http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/a...how/883066.cms has the news... check it out...

btw Pang is a tent city on the way from Rohtang to Leh after Keylong - moves a few kms up and down th ehighway each year !...

Tang Lang La and Bara Lach La are amongst the highest motorable passes in the world (~16000 feet)-good quality tarmac in some spots but broken dirt in alot of space- constant maintenenace goes on ..and it's a beautiful, beautiful place.....
and hairpin bends with pristine snowclad valleys , river basins etc..just don't look down...

There's a very heavy army presence in those parts plus major commercial traffic so things should be fine.

maybe www.rdh4.net will have more news.

/Delhi-Ladakh-Delhi by bus.....pain in the ### and back but the nearest to nirvana i've ever come/
Smoking Navy Cut at ~17000 feet has it's charms...not to mention the herb

Tom, I heard that part as well but dunno if its true !~ i went into CS2 on day 1 and took a few pics of the Extreme category, will post them shortly !!
According to unconfirmed reports from ppl at the event I believe a Suresh Rana was leading the event till the final 2 stages had to b cancelled due to heavy freak snowfall. They stuck in Pang which is frigging COLD .. poor guys !! 2nd I believe is Capt. Chauhan ( ex JK Rally team driver ) both in gypsy's and 3rd is Vikram Mathias in the MRF backed Baleno.

Will post pics in a day or two ...

VCheers

i spoke to one of the competitors yesterday, the event has been cancelled about 300 people are stuck because of heavy snowfall, and the Army are trying to get them out.
