sujaylahiri The Ralliart with the 2.4L MIVEC is a great buy. The Galant while a great car mechanically is just too boring for me, and the Lancer ES is not bad either.

Keep in mind that the Lancers are quite lightweight (about 2700 lbs for the ES) and when you encounter strong cross-winds (50-60 mph) on the highways, you'll see that the car's getting a bit shaky.

Otherwise it's a peach to drive in city traffic and twisty mountain roads.

lamborghini Thanks buddy,
I read lots of consumer reviews online and am stuck between the 02 Galant V6, 04 Lancer Ralliart or 04 Lancer ES with some mods. Damn!

sujaylahiri One of the most reliable cars out there, and the mechanics love it. It worked no problem in -40 C Northern Alberta winter when my buddy's 2008 Accord V6 refused to work.

Some of the cars (including mine) suffered from the wheel bearing issue, where one (or both) of the front wheel bearings get stuck inside the wheel hub and you have to replace them. The new bearing has to be press-fitted into the hub and that requires access to a machine shop. You don't have to replace the bearing if you don't want to, but it just makes an annoying humming noise on the highway.
A lot of the imports here suffer from that problem (my buddy's Civic also has it).

sujaylahiri Thanks. No the rear end is stock. Except for the spoiler, which is the same as the OZ Rally Edition. It's the North American version, so it might look a bit different than the Indian one. Although it's entirely made in Japan. 7th November 2008
