Although Toyota's future is indeed insecure, this has nothing to do with it. Many teams sell off old parts that are useless to them but great for collectors.

Interesting that they would sell off these proprietary parts parts off.

OT. 2010 season is sure going to be interesting.

IMO jap auto manf can never be passionate about automobiles as european manf. They will never ever make a 911,mustang or even a M series ,forget about ferrari or a lambo . They might have upper hand on reliabilty or quality issues, but they will always remain contemporary. Ok lets appriciate their sucess but,
Toyota entered F1 , having a HQ at colongne with a intention to have foothold in Europe , to build their brand there & nothing else . Now IMO they get to know that their plan is not working as they calculated & thinkin of let it go .
Toyota is a cash cow. as a manufacturer if they are not able to manage a F1 Team. Who else can. I Only hope it does not happen the honda way , Looking at Brawn winning & regreting for letting their team go

Toyota have repeatedly confirmed they will race in 2010 . Afterall they are the richest f1 team and have a point to prove .
But in F1 you never know.

This is really sad news. Toyota is set to announce it's withdrawal from Formula 1.

This is really really sad news indeed, considering how well this season went for the team.

Source : autosport.com - F1 News: Toyota set to announce it is leaving F1

This paves the way for Quadbak Sauber BMW team to enter the championship. The funny season has already begun. :P

No more GPs, team Toyota to quit Formula one racing
But the news item says something very different!

F1 sites are blocked at work and this is where I could gather the news from!

Very surprising, Toyota was doing reasonably good, and their new Japanese driver (Kobayashi) was one terrific talent!

F1 is in serious trouble. Tracks are making losses, teams are unable to compete due to funds issues. Bernie & Co alone seem to me getting their pound of flesh and more without any trouble. I would be happy for F1 to fail so that when it comes back in a new avataar it would address all the current malaise affecting it.

Good for F1. I want these manufacturers to get out of F1 and allow F1 to be the way it was a decade back! Being suppliers in F1 has always been good for them and not really a team!

Sad to see Toyota go out. But money aside, I'm sure the Toyota board is unhappy with the team's spectacularly average performace over the years despite having one of the biggest budgets.
