Any classifieds or ebay would sell used ones right? We are looking for a brand new one.

Anyways, thanks for the info. Will look it up.
not made any more.
The XK E type "celebration" is the one which has a limited run of 50 units.
you WILL get the E type used only, considering the last one was made in the previous century.

Yes, I just called Jag in the UK and they said that the E is out of production long back. It has been succeeded by the C-X16 which will be displayed at the Frankfurt motor show on Sep 13th. But this car won't be on road till 2012.

Anyways, thanks for your info. Appreciate it.

@ Vikrant

The last of the E types, series III seized production in the mid 70s. Jaguar hasn't made anything called the E type since. It is a brilliant classic car to own though since it has excellent after market support and parts.

If you want to own a new one the closest you can come is an Eagle Speedster which is an E type from every angle and a very exclusive machine. The car can be commissioned by contacting: paul@eaglegb.com

Here was a test drive done on Top Gear

Jaguar announces new sports car: the F-TYPE

Today Jaguar confirms that it will bring an all-new sports car to production; the F-TYPE.
Speaking at the New York auto show Adrian Hallmark, Global Brand Director, Jaguar Cars, confirmed: "We showed the C-X16 concept in September 2011, and the reaction to it has been so positive that we've accelerated our development of an all-new Jaguar sports car."

"That car will be called the F-TYPE, and it will be unveiled in production form later this year. "

The F-TYPE will launch as a convertible, and a strict two-seater. A range of petrol engines will be available – including a new powerplant family.

Today also marks the point that the F-TYPE's development schedule moves to final on-road testing, with engineering prototypes now leaving Jaguar's Castle Bromwich plant – the same plant at which the production cars will be built.

Phew! So the car is finally heading for production. The concept looked great. Would be interesting to see how JLR places this model in India. Would love to have one as an upgrade to my 3er in a couple of years.

>>>

Looks too close to the Astons, due to the Ian Callum connexion.
Jags do not seem to be doing too well as they are (possibly) perceived to be comfortable expresses vis-avis Bimmers which are (still*) perceived to be sporty expresses.

Let us see what materialises in the near future.

Regards

* Bimmers are moving away from naturally aspirated in line sixes and hydraulic steering to downsized turbo powered four cylinders and electric steering in some of their models across the 3 and the 5 Series

Mod Note : Please continue the Jaguar F-Type Discussion on our launch report thread (Reporting from Paris : The Jaguar F-Type Roadster & 4th Gen Range Rover). Thanks

This baby Jag looks to be a very striking car capable of shaking up the market.

TG says the F Type will look virtually unchanged from the C-X16 concept car except for the side opening rear tailgate. That was a bit of fun by the Jag engineers and a nod to the E-type.

Jag says the F Type will be a focused sports car, but the plan is to launch a two-seat soft-top convertible first which will hit the roads by mid 2013. It will sit between the Cayman/Boxster and the 911. A segment meddler like most Jags.

I am eagerly waiting for the coupe. I like them more than convertibles.
