Chevrolet displayed the 2013 Spark ( Beat ) at the LA motor show.
The car will be powered by a 1.2 litre engine developing 85 horsepower and would be offered with a five speed manual transmission along with an optional four speed automatic. The car would be offered with features like 10 airbags, seven inch touch screen radio, while higher trims would get Chevrolet's Mylink infotainment system.

Sorry for off-topic but what happened to Chevrolet logo in the first pic? Have they updated the logo or something?

^^ No, there seems to be no change in the Chevy logo. Probably the logo looks distorted in the image.

Looks like the biggest and most note-worthy change is the Instrumentation-Display/Dials/Meters. The current Beat's instrumentation looks funky, but on closer inspection,it looked quite tacky and cheap. It looks much classier now, at least in the pictures.

Now that's quite a jaw-dropping face-lift!

What just happened there? That's one of the biggest grills you can get on a small car. The air-dam underneath the grille has been done nicely. I like it! I even like those nice Fiat Punto Abarth-esque alloy-wheels.

The facelift and new headlight treatment seemed to have worked! the quirkiness of the current gen Beat is not seen or subtle in this upgrade. Good job Chevy!

Grill - Good
Headlight and tail-lamp - Good
Instrument cluster - very good

But OVRMs - with that shape on the top, I have a feeling they will not provide a very good view.

Any idea when this is coming to India?

ORVM design in first and last picture is different.

looks nice specially about the fog lamps at the front.
the front with the huge grill does look imposing in a good way but then thinking of the number plate messing the looks gives me second thoughts!
i still prefer the older gen rear light cluster.
the inside is sweet with the new console but im sure the indian version would get the cheaper silver coated finish.

It looks there has been some things picked from the way our very own DC - Dilip Chhabaria has designed his version of the Beat. You can defenitely pull off some style cues from there.

Check out the website here for other modification images:
DC DESIGN

Call out: I don't know what it costs !!! Please don't ask me. I just saw it on his website hence, got curious of the similarity.

Look at the front headlights the blue neon LED look is awesome !

The alloys & low profile tyre combination is to die for. Also, note the relatively thin & blacked b-pillars. And the small groove in the rear bumper which has been conveniently matched in the new BEAT.

Chevrolet Spark ( Beat ) - LA motor show 2011-side-view.jpg

Look at the small cubby holes which have been made green in line with the exterior. Clearly copied in the new version. Look at the speedo style, its not exactly the same but, similar metal finish. I like the steering on the new one though. This one looks quite tacky with the bling bling ! The center console however, look deadly almost like an alienware PC component. Very neat. However, for me this is too much chrome.

The gear lever in this image looks really neat. Check out the small LED lights in the roof almost like the night sky (from MARS with green stars ). I am not a fan of those lines running on the dashboard look tacky. The sunroof looks rather small if it is a sunroof but looks neatly placed. The seat fabric is nice & sporty.

My version of the beat would be a little shorter & broader, accomadating all my space needs. It was after all a transformer car used in the 2nd edition of the series. The green color of the car is quite eye catching just hope they make more powerful & spacious beats in the future.

Indeed it is .
I am not sure how good it would look in flesh as against the current one. Too much 'jaw dropping' and the aesthetics would go for a toss !!
Another thing, I don't think the Indian Beat would get all these changes in 2012. This facelift is for the USA market and GM has made the design more bold for this particular market.
@90BHP, as far as I know, DC design was involved in fine tuning the design of the Beat, hence no surprise that we see lot of similarities between DC design and the production version .

Chevy aims tiny Spark at city dwellers in US.

"The Korea-built Spark that debuts in the United States in July will be the smallest Chevrolet ever sold here. It's so small that Chevy executives say they are having a hard time forecasting sales volume for the car.
The U.S. version of the Spark will be assembled in Korea and marketed as Chevrolet's lowest-priced car.

It's the powertrain that will distinguish the North American Spark. General Motors' new 85.2-hp, 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine will be under the hood. Other markets offer a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine
The Spark will compete here with the Fiat 500, Scion iQ and Smart ForTwo.
Last year Smart sold 5,208 ForTwo units, although sales were up 50 percent in the first two months of this year.
Fiat sold 19,769 units of the 500 in 2011, a partial year of sales. The iQ went on sale in December, and 1,486 units were sold in the past three months. "

The above pictures seems to be that of a concept car; Here in US, Scion has been advertising heavily its new iQ, and hence the Beat/Spark(US) has stepped up to cater to that market. Currently I feel that there is definately an overlap in the Sonic Hatch and the upcoming beat in terms of size even though they are on different engine specs. They look so identical to each other.

I like the new face-lift of the Beat with the Fog-lights.
