Toyota/Lexus. Purely because of the impeccable quality and reliability. The new IS and the upcoming LS will take the fight with the Germans to a whole new level.

Toyota for me. That is by far the most "all-round" car manufacturer in the world. So thats the reason for voting for them even though I am madly in love with the Evo8 and Skyline R34 and have huge respect for Honda when it comes automotive engineering.

ISUZU nad Daihatsu are not really as good manufacturers according to what I know and mazda has really suffered after dealing with ford.

The loss of quality shows. Seriously.

Mazda it is for me. I like the attitude with these guys. No matter that they are not as big as Toyota and Honda, but they have always come up with some brilliant products. I mean think about making Rotary engines a commercial success.

And Mazda is not even a Japanese name. And yeah their cars look good too.

Nissan comes a close second.

Not all of them are pure Japanese.
Mazda is owned by Ford. Isuzu works very closely with GM. Mitsubishi has a partnership with Daimler Chrysler.

This poll should have allowed us to choose multiple options. A person can like 2 or more companies.

I voted for Honda/Acura. I just love the Acura TL, RL and the upcoming RDX. In the Honda range the Accord is a great car, both the American and European version and the Euro Civic is one hell of a machine. If multiple choices were allowed, I would have voted for Nissan/Infinity and Toyota/Lexus too. I love the Nissan Maxima's looks and the Infiniti G35 coupe is super hot! So is the Nissan 350Z. The new Lexus models look really great, very unlike Toyota. Finally Lexus designs are getting exciting. The new IS looks mean, sleek and sexy from any angle as does the new GS. I have never liked Toyota cars and still don't. The only toyota I would ever buy would be the Yaris. That's the only Toyota with character.

Honda.

They were one of the pioneers of the modern hatchback with the Civic in 1972.

They make some of the finest engines in the world (Civic Type R, NSX, S2000)

They are the only japanese manufacturer who made a car to embarass Ferrari (NSX)

Honda all the way...

My only experience of a NISSAN was in my 118 NE (Nissan engine) car and i loved its engine's smoothness, refinement and its sexy noise.
