| BHPian | Thanks nik for the find. The front in a strange way resembles old gen Pontiac and the rear of Chevy Malibu. I wonder what they did to the interiors. |

The Etios like smiling front end design is not too good for the segment its in. Even the rear is Etios like except the tail lights, new design elements missing here too. Toyota should have taken few cues from Nissan Sunny & extended the rear door for a wider opening & space. Overall Im not impressed with the design.

I personally feel the design is much better than the current one - especially compared to the facelifted Altis. The tail lamps look much sharper, and the overall sedate look has been replaced by a more aggressive look. This design somehow seems to have bit of a European touch.

Whats wrong with the Japs and rear design. Without the lens on the trunk, it looks like it wanted to imitate the Civic.

Yet another boring "please some, offend none" kind of a design from toyota. I like the rear set up more than the current one although not too sure about the front end. So this will hit our shores in 2014? Hopefully this time around they will improve on that 1.4L engine.

Isn't this getting a bit Accord-ish with the typical box type design; even the tail-lamp cluster seems to have taken a inspiration. The fog lamps unit looks terribly out of place. When they have managed to make the Innova and Fortuner look good; why does Toyota not manage to spice up the Corolla.

I just hope they stop this trend of increasing the width and length of the car with each passing generation. The corolla is almost as big as a Camry now! All in all a good replacement for the current car. It should sell well across the world. A perfect decent car to appeal to the masses. For people wanting more flash, there is always products from other brands.

This exterior design will fetch the same reviews like that of the new Civic. But Corolla was never about looks, lets see what they have to offer on the inside. In which city/state does Toyota test its cars? Has any test mule being spied?

| Hope Toyota gets the look of the new Corolla right. I am disappointed with what they have done to the new Innova. Even the new Fortuner "looks" disappointing IMO. Some design cues from Honda would certainly help. The diesel Corolla needs a bigger engine for the asking price. A 7-speed AT like the petrol variant will also help. I seriously hope not. The Sunny looks awful from most angles (no offense to any owners). By the way, the current Corolla has a pretty good rear door opening. The ingress/egress is easy and rear seat comfort is fantastic. | It looks more like Toyota Axio from front. C pillar to boot resembles Toyota Camry more. Rear as said by some is Sharp. Much better than the bulged tail lamp kit of the recently face lifted(or rear lifted?!) Altis. Will sell well as usual for sure throughout the world. O.T: I somehow feel that trend is going back to boxy body designs (in the name of sharpness). Curved(1950's to 60+) -> Boxy(1970's to 90's) -> Curved(late 90's to early 2k's) -> Boxy panels |

I think its time Japs outsource their design department to Italians. Vento and Linea seem to be leagues apart in terms of designs. And given Toyota's practice of pricing cars higher for same feature list as its competitors or giving us stripped down bare bones, ice age interiors for the same price, i doubt this one will really find many takers unless Toyota plays fair. Not with the current 1.4D engine for sure!
