Pattaya Motor Show July 28th -August 5th

Hey Guys,

I had gone to Bangkok recently for a marriage and then went to a small vacation to Pattaya with my wife. Needless to say that I could not enjoy the walking street .

My wife wanted to do some shopping in Central Festival, which is one of the better malls in Pattaya in the same complex as the Hilton Hotel, I was in for a very nice surprise, the Pattaya Motor show was being held at the Mall, needless to say she was enjoying her shopping and I was enjoying some errrhmm Cars.

It was a very nice and casual event, cars on display inside a mall I feel is ingenious. The ground floor had cars on display and the top floors had bikes.

There were small acts and shows on for the crowd but I unfortunately missed them.

There were not many cars on display, just what the mass market would enjoy and buy with some eye candy thrown in.

The New 3 series was in display with a shocking price of 28,90,000 Baht which is roughly around 50 Lakh rupees The other interesting car on display was the new Beetle.

I was in a hurry so took the pictures in haste. I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking.

The People Carriers. The Toyota Hilux is used as a share taxi over here, for those who didn't know.

The Bikes, I think there were some local bikes also on display, not sure though.


People in Thailand do love to tinker with their cars, even some taxi corollas were souped up with free flow exhausts.
There was a product call Dr.Wrap where they wrap your car with Matte finish film. I like.

Wow. Nice shots . The Ford focus looks great from the rear looks more like the i20. When is this coming to India?

Yeah, last year when I was there I was literally astonished to see the taxi Corollas all blinged up in random colors and vinyls, spiced up interiors and free flows. Those guys seem to be a lot into cars.

I'd seen quite a few Bentley's there along with spiced up City's, Fortuner's, Camry and a few others.

The Ford Focus was a beautiful car and felt very sporty but unfortunately when I had look inside it was not very roomy and kinda felt cramped. But I am sure if and when it comes to India they will not launch the hatch back version but the sedan version.

How does the film adhere to the paint ?
Does it peel off quickly ?
Apprx cost of the same ?

Hyundai does have a nice reply for Nissan's MPV and infact the proportions looks much better.

Matte Film is very thick, this is useful not only to give good looks to the car, this takes minor scratches much better than paint, it helps prevent rust better on the applied parts and it can be removed by a professional if you so desire.

The cost for the whole car starts from about Rs.30,000 approximately. But the good thing is that you can apply to parts of the car instead of the whole car, example if you just need to do the bonnet or the roof, there are also carbon fibre look a like films.

Do they have any special applications for Head lights / Tail lights ? It would be great if you can share the contact details. Probably they may have some local dealer. Would be great help for Bhp-ians.

Don't know about the headlight or tail lights, as I did not have much time; it was a quick browse through, though you can check out their Facebook page DR.Wrap Car | Facebook.

But I am sure you might be able to import the film and ask some good garage to install this, as I have seen some wrapped cars here in India.
