The main reason why I prefer 2DIN Head Units with physical buttons instead of a 2 DIN touch screen HU is primarily because it is easier to operate physical buttons (the large sized ones) while driving.
Touch Screens are pretty, no doubt. And they're cool. But somehow, the touch response is ages behind that in, say, an iPad. And that spoils the deal for me.

This touch screen app may need the user to adapt to the 8 different settings, and the various combinations of inputs needed. And that may take time initially - but isn't everyone used to unlocking a smartphone "the Apple way"now? Press button, swipe to unlock. No reason why people wouldn't adapt to this brilliant interface.

Confirmed. Apple launching IOS in Ferrari, Volvo & Mercedes Benz next week.


Finally, IOS enters Automobiles.
My Guess, Expecting a larger 12.9 inch Ipad in Mercedes and Ferrari. And a 9.7 inch Ipad in Volvo's.
