Is this the new Toyota Corolla? - Team-BHP

A South African website has put up drawings of the new Corolla coming in 2008. Toyota delayed the new Corolla to take on the snazzy new Civic and if the car remotely resembles the drawings here then I don't know why Toyota delayed the launch of the corolla! The car looks like a mix of the Yaris and VW Jetta!

2008 is kinda late. The Civic would have gobbled up a lot of sales by then.
But the Corolla looks good, in line with the family look sported by Yaris and Camry. A little too agressive........but that's how concepts and sketches are.

Looks like Volkswagen designers seem to have left a mark on Toyota. Especially with the front grille - which has become a trade mark in VW Jetta/Golf & Audi's line up
Of course elements of the new Toyota Yaris/Belta also seem to reflect here. I beleive Toyota can be trusted to roll out a good offering this time, considering the fact that Corolla boasts the largest sales number, as a lineage world wide, out stripping VW's Golf.
I have seen the new Honda Civic's interiors - very streamlined & spacious, almost gives a sedan (Accord/Camry) feeling.

I am totally dumbstruck

Cant really say how I feel about it coz it looks UGLY yet somehow appealing at the same time. But definetely a car that I ain't buying. Any1 here who would go for it ???

Looks almost exactly like the current Yaris sedan, which is almost in the same segment as the current Corolla.

Saw some spyshots of the alleged new Corolla on www.worldcarfans.com and the car there looks different from the one posted here. I suspect these are probably shots of some new version of the Yaris sedan.

Maybe they ARE going to base the new Corolla on the Yaris. The one posted here looks exactly like the Yaris sedan.

i read somewhere that toyota was planing a radicle new look for the upcoming corolla,to come somewhere close to the civic in the looks department.....but they need to do much better that that

COnsidering that the old camry and current corolla belong to the same looks family, Its pretty much possible that Yaris-New corolla-Camry may look family.

The car sure does look ugly, but Toyota might price it lower than the Civic (around the Yaris range) which might lead to greater sales.

Different pictures of the new Corolla have surfaced. Frankly, this looks more like the new Corolla.
