VW T ROC now seen undisguised in China.
To debut is September, the T ROC for China will be made by the Joint Venture partner FAW.
Quote:
The T-Roc is based on the MQB (A0) platform and shares much of its underpinnings with the Volkswagen Golf. In China the T-Roc will be available with a 110hp 1.2 turbo, a 131hp 1.4 turbo, and a 150hp 1.5 turbo, and probably with the 220hp 2.0 turbo of the China-made Golf GTI

VW to debut 48-volt mild hybrid in T Roc , after that it will not take long to roll out the technology in other vehicles.

Quote:
Once we have it in an MQB-based model it's more or less plug and play
Quote:
Automakers are adopting 48-volt systems to help fuel efficiency as diesel cars face a consumer backlash because of their toxic NOx emissions.

This is car that could have brought VW India back into relevance. The only issue would be the pricing and considering its based on the Golf, we are looking at a 16-20L price tag at the minimum and thats right in the Compass territory. The compass looks like more of car for 20L.

Err, didn't VW get a better idea for the shape of their DRL units than to 99% imitate the angel rings?

With BMW also going the straight and flat-lines design route, both these rivals seem to resemble each other more and more everyday.

World Premiere - The new T-Roc

It was presented as a concept car at the Geneva Motor Show in 2014. The T-Roc will now be entering series production. Its progressive design has expanded our SUV offensive and paved the way for a completely new segment at Volkswagen: a Lifestyle Crossover with SUV characteristics – the first CUV. A car that inspires, both on-road and off-road.

The bi-colour concept is particularly exciting. With a huge variety of colour combinations, the T-Roc enables you to configure your car to suit your individual style.

With the world première in mind, T-Roc enthusiasts can look forward to the full potential of the modular transverse matrix and a lifestyle-oriented yet simultaneously sustainable vehicle concept. Numerous technical innovations round off the total package and make the T-Roc a real adventure

Officially revealed now!! And it looks fantastic! If they can bring it to India, they can finally have a car that can murder the Creta. Even their lower powered versions would suffice in the Indian market.
