Volvo acquires Polestar (high performance Swedish car company)
Volvo announced that it has fully acquired Polestar, the Swedish high performance car company.
The deal included the Polestar brand, which will now be used as the model name for high-performance Volvo models, but not the Polestar racing team.
Volvo and Polestar share a long history. They have been working in motor sport since 1996 and in recent years signed a cooperation agreement to jointly develop Polestar versions of Volvo cars that combine a comfortable Volvo driving experience with a very high level of power and handling.
In the future, Volvo said Polestar will also use the automakerís twin engine electrification technology to develop next generation performance cars, while Volvo will benefit from the sale of aftermarket Polestar performance optimization kits for existing Volvo's.

First the lifetime warranty on parts and labor and now this. The Chinese are taking all the right steps to make people watch out for the brand.
I love the Polestar. The underdog when compared to the M and AMG and we all know whom the public will love in a fight.
