Lovely work Sam, keep it up, its a different world going through your photos and reports. As the previous member already asked, I am surprised to see the clean roads and floors all around the places you visited so far. Something like a dream in India. Evenif our whole country is cemented, tiled and tarred, still public would not use the waste buckets and tubs but instead throw the stuff to someone's face or out through the window. May be thats our respected culture which is not to be altered by law !!

Simple! The visa rejection rate of these countries to South Asians is practically 56% (read somewhere on the net).

IMO, more than somebody working to keep it clean, it is about prevention. If you don't litter and dirty it in the first place, I would think you won't need to bother about cleaning it (atleast not frequently). Cleanliness (the prevention way) is ingrained in everyone there (unlike us) with people even keeping the trash in their pockets/bags till they find a trashcan.

And ofcourse the civic body also plays its part (unlike in India) by maintaining the drains/pavements/roads etc properly and providing enough trash cans in public places.

My question was more rhetorical, but yeah what you say makes a lot of sense. I have not been to the Continent except maybe while stopping over on the way to the US. That said, except for a few run down areas in the cities, even the US is quite clean. Now back to Sam's travelogue ...

Noticed the orange theme in the museum/showroom. Quite nice. Infact, its not the first time we have had oranges on this blog!

Boss, these same lowly 'South Asians' use and operate the Delhi Metro. Yet it's so effin clean !

The answer probably lies in good governance, rather than some inherent genetic disability in 'South Asians'.

*Sam opens the door and lets all the controversy out. Shoo.*

Breathe clean and easy fellas. This is a fun thread. Some of it is tongue and cheek. Accept it. We're not discussing the ways of the world or it's past present and future here.

This is a little thread where you come to relax. Surf with one hand as you get off with the other (cars, architecture, women, bikes or all together, if that's your thing)

Breathe easy and clean. Smile. If you don't like something anyone has said, let it slide. It's not a serious thread.

Don't these Peugeots resemble sharks from the low mug shots ?

The 907 reminded me of Nemo (Finding Nemo) with a friendly grin.
The 4007 on the other hand is certainly not happy at the prospect of being 'shot' by a Yeti.

I may go there in a few months. Not confirmed, but maybe in 6 or 7 months. You like Greece? I can get many photos of men kissing there. Is that why you want me to go? lol

That was funny!

@ lurker : For your info, have you paid a visit to Delhi Metro lately? I can assure pan gutkha ki "peeks" all over on the tracks and/or the restrooms, specially in Shahdara route. (used by all sabziwalas!)

Sam, you are pretty right. This is NOT a serious thread. Sorry if my replies offeneded any of you south asians. (no offences now please!)
