Consider this an application for next year's team then!

Thank you. I thought nobody reads my smart ones.

It is a potential one. I cannot elaborate though, lol.

Oh Sigh. Does nobody understand what a pun is anymore?

Allow me to explain. Some of the group have never been abroad before. Some are vegetarians. Jains even. Visiting the fatherland of steak and sausages and little else other than potatoes. I was making a slightly lame, mostly inside, smart-alec joke.

It is ALL organised already, sooooooo sorry Gautam! We are Germans, you know?! It is not in our nature to leave things to the last minute haha. And the countdown has begun, only 14 more days = exactly two weeks, till the show begins

Why don't you try and sneak into Sam's suitcase lol?

Knowing Sam - the suitcase will arrive but he will be held back due to some stupid reason like ECNR stamp or expired passport !!

Knowing Sam, he may not need a suitcase for the places he visits. Hide in a suntan lotion bottle or something!

Ha.

For your information -
1) I have a brand new 64 page jumbo passport (the old one, all the pages got over in 4 years)
2) My ECNR is done (finally)
3) ECNR is not required in any case for Europe
4) I have a long-term German visa.

It does not look like any mishap will happen.

@ajmat -

Oh I know. I really really know! *wink*.

Sorry guys but during my last trip to Germany "we" had a few *ahem* problems. Still thanks to German efficeincy (in which I had greater faith than The One) and The One's persistance and excellent communications all ended well.

Well, to update all of you, Madame is currently on a long and beautiful drive from Heilbronn to Berlin.

Ich bin in der fränkischen Schweiz. Sooo schön hier, alles grün und blauer Himmel said her SMS, not long ago.

(Translation: I am in the franconian Swiss. so beautiful here, everything green and bue sky.)

For a quick refresher on the beautiful area of the Franconian Swiss, you can visit our Christmas blog here.
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travel...t-dec2007.html (A YetiHoliday® - Christmas in Bavaria (repost from Dec2007))

TheOne® is driving by herself in her little Opel Corsa from Heilbronn to Berlin. The distance is 600 kms and goes via Nürnberg (Nuremberg).

The time taken should be about 6 hours with a coffee break or two. She is still enroute and pictures of the surroundings are out of the question as she is driving alone.

I will join her exactly a week from today. I will be flying straight to Berlin (via Zurich). When we are done with Berlin (around the 3rd of September) we will drive out towards Bad Nauheim in Hessen. The return journey will not come through the Franconian Swiss unfortunately, but will come across some beautiful geography.
I will take pictures when I am not driving, that is a promise.

The return path:

The return journey will not be a speedy 700km drive, but a leisurely one where we have already decided to stop spontaneously at whichever lake we like and spend the day and night there while on holiday. From here we will go to Bad Nauheim where we will spend 2 days with family before I take a return flight to Bombay from Frankfurt.

The German countryside is gorgeous and often I have to pinch myself to realise that what we see from the car window does truly exist.

More later,
Sam

And she's safe and sound, in Berlin-overall an uneventful drive. 600kms in 6.5 hours, including breaks and driving sensibly.

This time, next Monday I will be at the airport, catching a Swiss flight to Berlin again Yeehaa!!
