Thanks Abdul bhai, yes I do have a thing for Italian cars, but I rather not give importing a thought.I dont know much about the grey market, but if ordered officially, there is more than 100% duty to be paid firstly.Secondly, if the car costs less than 40000 USD,it will have to go through Arai certification and homologation procedures.A car like Bravo which would probably cost not more than 10 lakh indian rupees would cost around 22-24 lakhs after importing.Completely avoidable.I'm happy with my good old Palio

Fiat has officially unveiled the Bravo and sales will begin this month. Engine options include 1.9L Multijets (120 and 150 bhp), the 90bhp 1.4L, and a new family of turbocharged T-JET petrol engines (120 and 150 bhp 1.4L Turbo) making their debut with the Bravo.

Lots of pictures in the link above.

For those of us pining to see the Bravo in India, worry not. Fiat says it wants to sell the car in about 60 markets and they want the Bravo to be a global brand.

Fiat exec Luca De Meo stated last week that the Bravo five-door hatchback would be sold in over 60 countries including markets in South America and Asia.

Default Oh mY GOD!

Man, I just wet my pants. Awesome Awesome videos of the Fiat Bravo.
Keep your volume at full blast and listen to the sound of that Multijet engine. Yes, you wont believe its the sound of a diesel! ( Look at the front grill for the 'Multijet' badge) .Or it could also be the " T-Jet" badge for the new range of turbocharged 1.4 L gasoline engines that pump out 150 horses!!

Do not get too excited guys, it will look and behave differently by the time it reaches India, I'd be very happy to be proven wrong by Fiat. It will come down with a detuned engine, interiors redone to cut cost, ... Let us hope it will look exciting even after that.

The car does well in safety too.

Adult occupation : 5/5

Pedestrian safety : 2/5

Child safety : 3/5

Full results : Fiat Bravo Euro NCAP Results.

VW Golf fares better in both Pedestrian and Child protection.

Source: NCAP Rating for European Small Family cars.

2,179 units of the car were sold in Italy in March 2007.
