I was just reading an article on the Veyron in the Autocar mag. Awesome performance!!!

It's said that even if the Veyron gives the Mclaren F1 a 10 sec head start (before it takes off), the Veyron would hit 200mph at the same moment as the Mclaren would.

Which means that the Veyron will do 0-200mph as quick as a Mclaren would do 130-200mph. Mind blowing figures.

Here are some more exciting figures.

0-96kmph - 2.5 secs
0-200kmph - 7.3 secs
0-300kmph - 16.7 secs
0-405kmph (top speed) - 55 secs

I hated this car, but now I love it. I dont know why, but I love it.

The most politically incorrect car of all time, beats even a Dodge Viper or an Aston Martin Vantage for outrageousness!!!

To add to what Shan2nu said,
AC also added that this car doesn't generate the love/emotional feeling one getsn in a murci, enzo.
I don't know why but i tend to agree with that. I was more excited asbout the Murcielago in India then i am about this car.

Dude, with the Veyron, there is no time for all that. It'l probably hit 60mph even before you can say "Love and Emotion". LOL

These things are very subjective. Every person is emotional about a diff car. Not at all a good enuf reason, not to like the Veyron.

Hennesy Viper Venom cannot be considereed as it is an aftermarket tuned version of a Viper, I mean to say if Dodge were to make a car identical to the Hennesy at their factory themsleves in decent numbers only then it can be considered.

How quick is a Formula 1 car?

An F1 car is bound to be quicker. It's got a power to weight ratio of around 1500bhp/ton compared to the 530bhp/ton of the Veyron.

The gears on the F1 car are optimised to hit top whack as early as possible (depending on the track).

What you see on raceday is not the actual top speed of an F1 car. I'm pretty sure an F1 car with with the right downforce settings and a big enuf straight, can hit around 380-390kmph (maybe even more).

Mclaren Mercedes have timed their cars, 0-100kmph in a little over 1.9 seconds, can be even lower with optimal settings.

I am sure they can do 400, Shan2nu.

this one is not a custom tuned viper by hennessey...

they are producing 24 units chassis 1 ,2 and 3 already assigned to customers ...

@shantanu - the F-1 can easily do 400 with a low downforce ..there is no comprision between a street legal supercar and an F1 race car ...
