They should make money, the plans for aston is to tackle bentley and hence you will be seeing a rapid increase in production of their different models and also an addition with the 4DR trying to touch the 10,000 mark, just like bentley did.

I cant wait to see more stuff from Aston, they are such a class act..

actually. . . whoever owns the co. if they are passionate about what they do they can do it well. . .. . like that russian guy who bought TVR. . if LMVH are able to keep the standards as high as aston always did . . . it will be a good business lesson to every one. And aston has always been a luxury product.

Default Prodrive almost certain to buy Aston Martin

A consortium of investors led by David Richards is reported to be buying out Aston Martin from Ford. An announcement is expected soon.

Prodrive have the technical capability and the financial clout, courtesy Middle Eastern/American backers to make Aston Martin a successful niche car maker. Richards has an impressive list of success stories in various forms of motorsports and also plans to retain the services of Ulrich Bez, the man credited to turning around the company.

Autocar - Richards on cusp of Aston deal

Prodrive is all set to enter F1 in the near future. What better marketing vehicle for Aston Martin than having an Aston badged F1 car from Prodrive? Imagine an Aston lining up next to a Ferrari on the grid...

I couldnt have thought of a better suited company to own Aston. I hope Prodrive has the financial wherewithal to nurture Aston in the long run and not hive it off later on.

If aston had to go to Louis Vuitton we'd definitely see ludacris roll up in one..

UPDATE: Prodrive has bought Aston Martin. It shouldnt surprise us if Dave Richards brands his upcoming Prodrive F1 team as Aston Martin

He will not, Aston Martin's are touring cars and F1 does not go with the image. He already runs the Le man team

I think i might agree with theMAG on this one....

Its about the publicity (and the image of speed, cutting egde technology and money) which having your name on an F1 team will provide. Certainly can't be a bad thing for the Aston Martin brandname.

Though maybe the decision will be to push the Prodrive name instead... lets wait and see what is to come.

The newspapers say that Aston has returned to British hands...what rubbish, Dave Richards is just a small part of the consortium with most of the stake held by some Kuwaiti investors...so much for Public Relations...
If some Korean or Chinese company would have bought it, it would have created such a furore...but Kuwait doesnt even know how to make cars...but they know PR better than most people...

Agreed but David knows more about making cars & running race teams than most people in the business. They've proven this time & again & to be very frank out of the people listed out to buy AM I think the only worthy contenders were Prodrive.

Let's get this straight

1: Dave Richards is fronting this in a personal capacity. Prodrive has no financial stake.

2: Ulrich Bez is running things, he has done a lot and they respect that to the extent of letting him make the announcement

3: Main bankroller is a Texan with a passion for Astons and two Kuwaitee funds

With a passion, a petrolhead and technocrat in the top seats, one cannot go too wrong
