Audi RS5 "M3 beater?" to be launched early next year "PICS"

Says UK's Car online. 450bhp to all four wheels sounds like a good deal. Yes since we're gonna beat the M3 we also have to have those "i'd like to brag about my twin- turbo's"
Two spoolers to pump more HP. Same 4.2Litre unit from the S4,RS4 re-tuned to go into the RS5.
What y'all think?
Meanwhile I do have a question about the RS4. Wasn't that supposed to be the M3 beater?? What does it compete against? Or does it have to compete against anything?

Was watching fifth gear on travel and living on friday night.They had a bmw M3 vs the audi RS4 shootout.Fabulous!The RS4 was faster in a straight line,the BMW,around the bends and at drifting.But the RS4 did manage beating it on the track, thanks to the massive grunt of that V8.And it sounded lovely as well.Tiff was at the Audi's wheel,while some other guy was at the BMW's.Tiff admited that the Audi felt all secure and safe,but the BMW was certainly be more fun.

That is one HOT Audi - My 50K+ would be very confused in 2010 - M3 or this puppy? I Need to find a girl who appreciates nice toys by then so I can convince her to buy this with DSG and get the M3 stick myself!

vcash isnt the new m3 going to be like 65+k base and the RS5 is going to be 70+k base.

also i just love this car, if i could i would love to own this more than the 911S in india..

Also roms, the RS4 vs M3 video you saw was of the last generation M3, so if that was close to the RS4, the new M3 might just destroy it, if the hype of the new M3 is any thing to go by, but the RS5 should take care of it..

That was the 6 cylinder 3.2 or 3.3 litre bmw with 350bhp ~ and that rs4 developed 420bhp. The new M3 is V-8 with 420 horsepower...so what happens now...is my question.

I wouldn't bet against the new M3 being better than the RS4. The E46 M3 CS edition was beaten by the RS4 by the slimmest of margins, so this might prove to be a real challange for Audi.

Let's have the game on, bring on the M3 baby!!!

Thanks 1Day and highway blaze for the info.If the Beemer was indeed the last generation M3 with the 6 cylinder motor,the new one should pretty much show its heels to the Audi RS4 around a track.Probably Audi is playing one-up on BMW and hence,we have the RS5.Jason did mention however that the M3 felt quite nervous

From what our old BMW speculated - the 2009 M3 will be a little more than 10 - 15% than the current E46 so around $55K - $58K would be a reasonable assumption? The RS5 - I can see that being easily over $75K. The S5, I can see being around the M3 Pricing.

However fast the M3 is if i'm shelling out so much cash for a car I want it to look good and the RS5 beats the new M3 in that anytime. What you guys say? How unfortunate it is that the new M3 or the new 3 series even looks yuck.
By the way the re-designed A4 Audi should be out next year same time. That means the A4, S4, RS4 should all look better

Get rid of the Bulge on the Hood and give the M3 bigger wheels in proportion to the wells - and I think the RS5 is beat in the looks department. In it's current state, the RS5 looks so much hotter.
