Default another contender for the top speed vector

Before your eyes, you see a prototype version of a car that will be very much real. It might evoke some Japanese thoughts, or perhaps a batmobile. All in all, it makes you take a step back, especially afrer looking at the stats.

Standard Twin turbo V8 power: 600 bhp
Upgraded single Supercharger V8 power: 750 bhp
Shocking twin supercharger V8 power: 1850 bhp

To keep things interesting I will give the performance stats for the twin super: (mfg est.)

0-60: 2.5 seconds
1/4 mile: 10 seconds
Top Speed: 275+mph
Top Speed (Bonneville Gears): 300 mph

First of all, the engine will be longitudinally mounted, not transverse. Secondly, besides that 7.0L V8 with its twin-turbo setup, there will also be an optional upgrade to a single whippled marine mill that should pump out somewhere north of 750 HP. If that seems too tame, you can opt for a twin-supercharged version that promises a whopping 1850 HP (!). The performance stats for that one are listed as 0-60 in 2.5, the quarter in a superbike-like 10.0, and a top speed of 275 MPH+. Well, that plus sign after the 275 can make it 300 MPH with Bonneville gearing, according to Vector. By the time this thing reaches production, we wouldn't doubt claims of 3,000 HP and 400 MPH knowing Vector. And as a slightly veiled slap at a certain super-Lambo displayed just on the other side of the wall, there is a huge photo of an F-22 Raptor behind the Vector to remind us of the inspiration and aeromotive engineering behind it. No pricing or production dates were announced though, so stay tuned.

Here, read these for an update:

Vector Supercars - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Vector W8 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It was regarded as one of the biggest con-jobs in the automotive world especially when it came to faking performance figures. Massive failure would be an understatement for this car & company.

Talking World's fastest street legal car.

Well, these kind of claims come up more often than expected, but only few make it to the road and more importantly achieve the claims made pre-production.

The world's fastest street legal car (not production, mind you) is a Vauxhall Victor. Yes, the same old bird that our Desi Conti is based upon. This guy in England decided to overhaul his 1972 Victor slowly and he ended up with a 2200 bhp beast. It has a 9.3 L Hemi with twin turbos. 0-60 mph in ONE second. Yes, one. Check out this Fifth Gear Video. INSANE..
