I am not sure whether these cars fit zak's description of exotics, still ...

A snow-covered beauty.

And another ...

A Honda van (Odyssey ???) and the mighty Merc

And if I was not clear enough about parking space issues here, check this out. As they say a picture is worth a 1000 words. Actually we might also need this back home after the various 1-lac cars start hitting the road.

A normal taxi here (almost all are Toyotas, accept Amex and are such a pleasure to deal with, especially for someone used to the rogue Madras auto-guys).

Nowadays, you can see many Prius' running as taxis. Sorry about the wierd angle of the snap - I think I took it from a bus or something.

Is that our own Gypsy at the traffic light ?

And ram_hyundai, here is one of the wierd boxy ones I mentioned earlier.

And the mini-SUVs I think I mentioned in an earlier post. First the Jimny - see many of them here.

And the Daihatsu 'Terios Kid' - 20valve DOHC)..

Finally, this one is not exactly 4-wheeled, but what the heck, we love anything on wheels, right ? And if it does close to 300kmph, we would definitely be interested.

Presenting the mighty Shinkansen (or the Bullet Train, as we know it).

Superb pics! I've heard a lot about the Bullet train, especially from my dad who used to visit the South East Asian countries ever so often. 300kmph...bliss!

Hmm, I am not really sure how to do that ? I uploaded the actual snap I took, without any editing.

If that question was directed at me, I have absolutely no idea. I can't say a CJ3B from a C3PO.

Wow !! do they have level crossings there ? And why doesn't that train have any cow catchers in the front ?

nah, was asking it in general. I read that jeep's insistence that the 7 slat grille is theirs made mahindra use a 6.5 slat grille :P

Exactly what I have been wondering for years. Especially because they even have something here that resembles an Alto. Imagine what competition it will give to the Alto in India, even if priced by Honda-India standards. I would buy one for sure.

john, I am not sure whether you were serious or kidding. But that is a station, not a level crossing. And they have those gates to prevent people from committing suicide by jumping onto the tracks in front of an approaching train. These gates open only after the train has stopped at the station.

And if you look closely, it does have a cow catcher - blue thing, triangular shape. But at those speeds, I can't even imagine the fate of the cow.

Not sure if I got the resizing thing right. Anyway giving it a try.

Just kidding biju. I am sure they don't have any stray cows running around railway tracks in Japan.

Huh???? And where did you spot an SL in SB's pictures??? If it's the first pic you're referring to, it's a CLK-Coupe, not an SL.

after looking at all these cars i just wonder why has honda, mitsubishi, and others have not come out with better and smaller cars in competition for the i10,alto,getz, u-va etc, in the same price range?

also these giants can any day offer better technology with smaller engines and RWDS for the small cars like the nano is going to have!

awesome work mate please keep them coming! and by any chance can we see some pics of mid range sedans from japan?
