Exclamation Bmw X5 vs Porsche Cayenne!!

Tell me what do you guys think..
Can BMW X5 be compared to the PORSCHE CAYENNE...
Both are now available in India and both have 3 diff gasoline engines.
Please put in your inputs as what you think...

Definitely has GOT to be the Cayenne. There's nothing wrong with the X5, but right now, theres practically no SUV IMO that can hold a light to the Cayenne. Mind you I'm thinking of the S and Turbo version right now and NOT the normal Cayenne since I've driven the S and so know what it feels like. BUT In terms of spaciousness/luxury I think personally that the X5 would defeat it cause the Porsche rear seats are a bit more vertical and hard than required. But overall its still the Cayenne.

OHH and you should've included more SUV's like the Volkswagen Touareg, Range Rover 4.4, Lexus RX330, etc.

Yeah man... considering x5 and cayenne, its definitely the cayenne which is a winner, x5 is pretty good still the interior space is limited and look wise its so so... i really cant wait for the new m-class, after reading the reviews of the new m, it seems that its a clear winner though not the performance of the cayenne!!

The Cayenne is an awesome performer. Its really capable to provide that so called "hair raising" experience. Its superbly built and handles well,so does the X5.Cayenne has amazing off-road capabilities but the interior space is a bit of a let-down.The X5 triumps in this department. In performance, the X5 might be a lil down, but then compromising too is a way of life.
Both cars have their respective charaters. Its just not fair enough to compare the two IMO.

Thumbs up

Performance wise X5 can't be compared to Cayenne and even offroad X5 can't match the cayenne. But I prefer a Land Rover Discovery3.

The X5 was the last off-roading king of the tarmac. The Cayenne came and changed that, and is now the king of the off-road also. Beaten by not many, maybe the Disco 3. The Cayenne is a sports car on steroids, sort that can do the school run, come back, go lumbering, come back, pick up groceries, and if on your way back the Nordschleife is close, do a 9-min lap too. Of course they couldn't leave the last part out, it's made by Porsche. The Cayenne Turbo has taken it to a different league. We are yet to see somebody give it competition. And if 39,913 Cayennes sold last year don't prove it's success story, I don't know what does.

Porsche ofcourse, it not only performs exceptionally well on tarmac but also has good offroading capabilities. It's got everything an SUV should have.

Haven't driven the X5 so can't say much about it...but drove the Cayenne sometime back & oohh baby is it a stonker! I don't think X5 can beat it in terms of performance. So as of now its Cayenne for me.

The X5 looks like the 540i wagon n drives like a BMW should n thats good,it looks handsome n is a beauty inside with BMWs flawless build.Well tats pretty close to wonderful.
And then came the Cayenne,n many did criticized Porsche for makin the Cayenne n sm even said it was their way to cash in for the CGT(well tat maybe true),but as far as i know,as of yet, theres no SUV tat can come close to the Cayenne. The Porsche Active Suspension Management system takes us 15yrs back to the 959,where Porsche didnot want to compramise comfort at low speeds for top end speeds, tats the same with the Cayenne.
Comparing the 2 is very simple, the Cayenne gets more looks cause there r a no. of X5s on our roads,it drives better than the X5,sounds better than the X5 n yea its a Porsche

I'll go with the Porsche Cayenne. It's capable of tackling some of the most difficult terrain in the world and at the same time, it's capable of supercar like performance and handling.
