Just spotted this nice 2006 Ford GT on the streets of Abu Dhabi....its a DOHC 32 valve 5.4 liter supercharged V8 with 550HP and a top speed of 459 KMPH !

Nice!! but 459 kph?? , is it a typo because even Bugatti Veyron SS have a top speed of around 420 kph

459 km/h? Really?

I highly doubt that Wasif. Even a 'souped-up' Ford GT wouldn't be able to exceed 400 realistically speaking.

The car maxes out at a little over 200 miles per hour, if I'm not mistaken.

Great catch though! It looks phenomenal! That F430 looks pedestrian in comparison! *thumbs up*

Among the no-so-common non-supercars that I spotted in Dubai was the Soren on the Sheikh Zayed road. It is built by an Iranian manufacturer and has the plain-Jane looks of a Ford. I can't take pictures while driving like many others on the forum can, so no pics to upload :-(

Definitely not 459 kmph. As stated earlier, the Bugatti also managed 420 and not without a fair amount of effort. Was going through google on the same and it seems to be a much talked about point and the numbers all are in the range of 212-240 MPH

But as per an article, the Hennessey Ford GT40 became the fastest car at Texas Mile to clock a top speed of 257.7 mph. This was in Mar 2012

See, that's where most of our hard-earned 80 odd bucks worth of petrol are put to use. In some other way or other, I'm sure.

BTW the Rollers on steroids looks a bit amusing, but also reminds me of something quite relevant, albeit a bit more pragmatic and interesting.

Subaru, hasn't been a really well marketed car in Dubai/UAE and hence, relatively smaller number

The attached picture is one of the few WRXs in town

Really a nice car. Had an opportunity to take this particular one for a spin and it was one of the better experiences I had in driving machines with a sporting pedigree.

This seems to be the mighty 310 bhp WRX STI which is completely different from the lesser spec'd 265 bhp WRX.

Unfortunately these are not marketted and supported well in this part of the world, reason could be the regulations that do not support performance mod and lack of good mechanics. Moreoever they come only in manual gear (sti comes in automaic with paddles as well) which is not at all preferred or resellable in this region, whereas as in America, Europe, Australasia where you find real car enthusiast's; these cars are very popular.
