Default 2009 BMW 7 SERIES most revealing shots yet

Note from the Team-BHP Support : You are well aware of our rules prohibiting externally hosted pictures (imageshack, photobucket etc.). Please view our board rules carefully to understand our enforcement of direct picture uploads.

Found these on carspyshots.net:

thought i would place this on the international automotive scene, but no since this car will be launched simultaneously worldwide by late 2008 or early 2009 and it would compete with the hot-selling s class in India.

Good find. Could you also get some info on the specifications and what changes are being made over the outgoing model. The exhausts surely look much better- a la - RS style.

Its looks more compact. And the boot looks smaller/stubby. Nice alloys.

I like! On initial impressions, it looks proportionate and is hopefully not as quirky as the current gen 7. German cars ought to have clean, understated and muscular designs, just like the old times. Audi is the only german luxury marque whose designs have universal appeal. Period.

Cool Masters in Disguise

BMW never reveals the body lines openly, i have seen difft pix of the new 7 series testing south africa & other places. its got a different mould on the fenders & bonnet. I guess the grill will be different from the one shown openly.BMW are masters in hiding the real Beemer while testing, check out the rear, it would be very difficult to guess the original design. very well hidden.

Looks like the 7 just got better. Seems to be really well done, but would never know till it officially gets released, although BMWs are always pretty well worked out.

@revved_up, the antenna seems to be a measuring device for power at the wheels I think, something like Fly-Wheel hp or Brake hp (not sure though). Most tests use this, I think it also allows them to check the g-forces and skidpads et al.

That's part of the diagnostic equipment that engineers use while testing the cars before actual production begins. In all probability it is used to collect parameters such as actual wheel speed, wheel temperature, tyre temperature, rear brake temperature etc.

Looks good overall. The lines and curves are masked and dont reveal much.

I dont however like the huge BMW grill (the 2 squares.. sorry i dont know what its called). Would have looked better if it was smaller like in the old gen 7 series.

The car is properly covered/ masked thereby not revealing much. However, the build does look massive, muscular and strong. I didn't like the large grills though, they look like as if they are directly been taken from the X5. Alloys(design) if retained in actual production will look good.
