The rear doesn't look too promising. And for someone like me who doesn't really like the interiors of the new C, this is a step further into the darkness.

also it doesn't look like much has been done to reduce the button count on the dash, which was a point of criticism.

The dash board layout looks like the previous generation E, while it misses the sleekness of the current gen one.
And that wood looks CHEAP !

The wood may look OK once dusted and repolished but the dashboard as a whole looks busy/cluttered and very ordinary. The exterior still lacks any sportiness.Guys at Munich have nothing to worry about-yet!

Yeah the rear 3/4th looks ugly. Common Mercedes, you have a good looking C-Class. Just improve on it a little bit.

why do you guys(most of them BMW fans) jump to conclusions, the buttons on the upper part of the dash operate the telephone system and other buttons are for quick access to systems like AC.Those buttons have to be there.

Secondly the wood is not cheap at all,the pictures are poor quality.

Well i wouldnt call myself a BMW fan as such, having owned a mercedes and BMW now i am torn apart by the two brands. I prefer the C to the 3 ...the 5 to the E and the S to the 7 as per the generations available now. So if that is anything to go by i would be regarded as more of a merc fan?

BMW too has the telephone system but it doesnt have as many buttons so those keys dont HAVE to be there. Like BMW, mercedes could also intergrate the dialing into the COMAND much like the iDrive to decrease the clutter.
I would have expected a touch screen interface this time as rumor has it the the next iDrive will feature a touch screen.

Well thats the way mercedes does telephone systems on E and lower models, the S and CL have the telephone dialer in the command controller handrest.

Having the telephone buttons in the Command is ok if there is touchscreen, otherwise it loses its simplicity.

P.S:When i said BMW fans i wasn't particularly referring to you.

I have said that I am BMW fan but that doesnt mean that I dont enjoy other cars( you can check my other posts) Dont know why that should preclude me from commenting on other makes.I also happened to think that the S class is way better than the current 7er and SL is better than the 6 series but 3er and 5er are way better than the new C or outgoing E in every aspect including interior, handling and refinement. The clutter they create in the dash is a legitimate critizism when it comes to a car in that catagory.Frankly people expected better thats all.
Here is what I consider classy in a brand new model in the same category.

Looks like the current C's big brother. They are planning to offer night vision technology in the next E.

Both of these do not look like the camouflaged cars.

They're obviously both digitally processed. The second picture literally looks like a W221 S class with its headlamps split in two.
