Default All In A Day's Ride - Corvette C6 & Phantom

Got a chance to check out the Rolls Royce Phantom and Chevrolet Corvette C6 all in a day ... well to keep the story short, my neighbor's son owns a construction firm in Dubai and thanks to the boom, he has been able to afford these beauties. So I called him up one weekend and asked him if I could come by and take some pictures of his rides, no objection from his side, took my brother along... got there took some pictures and was happy... but then he popped the ultimate question... 'Do you want to try it out?'... so I got the keys to the Rolls, took it for a spin and when I came back he told me to try out his Vette (the Corvette happens to be my favorite car of all time)... this just made my day... it was complete bliss...

This is his present lineup...

Mercedes Benz S500
Mercedes Benz Vanio
Cadillac Escalade ESV
HUMMER H2 SUV
GMC Starcraft
Chevrolet Corvette C6
Rolls Royce Phantom

Will post my pictures soon... here is his lineup, the H2 was in the office, and I missed out on the Starcraft, but it is parked next to the Vette.

Wow now thats an experience. Rollin in a Phantom. That has to be some kind of a boom to be able to have that line up. Lucky you've got the roads and stretches to roll those biggies.

Is that Rolls a EWB (Extended Wheel Base) version?

Nice one RPM. Do post your driving impression of the Corvette because that sounds very exciting more than the Phantom Love the yellow colour

Default The Rolls Royce Phantom

The Phantom is one massive piece of automotive engineering... I got into the driver's seat and the feel was intense, the view across the bonnet was made wonderful by the sight of Lady Ectasy flying in the wind... plush leather seat, large expanses of luxurious wood panel and a plethora of tech-gadgets made for oodles of pleasure...

I pushed the keyfob into the slot, push the start/stop button... released the parking brake, once again with a touch of a button... and began to reverse out of the garage... once in reverse gear, the panel that once held the clock in the center console had rotated into the console to be replaced by the LCD panel with live feed of the rear... got it out... turned around, not an easy task if there isn't much space.

Once on the road it was pure bliss... the 6.75 V12 was full of power, but not a whimper could be heard in the cabin... I pushed it, but not too hard, for two reasons... firstly, it had a powerful engine not to be raced round a track, but so that this monster could moved with ease and secondly, I wasn't ready to pay for if and any damages happened.

But, to keep it short, the drive was amazing the acceleration pure and quick... the ride was beyond comfortable, it was surfing on clouds... amd the bonnet was way out literally speaking... you didn't know where the bonnet ended... it just goes on and on...

The rear undoubtedly has all the niceties, vanity mirrors for both occupants, mini refridgerator, disc changer, work table in ebony, built-in PC in the backrest of the driver and shotgun seats. Audio and climate controls... and the nice thing about the rear door and the curtains are that they are all powered, press of a button shuts the rear doors and another button draws the curtains.

Great driving review...just what a Rolls ought to be. No offence, but now that you posted other pictures, I dont think too much of the black + silver colour combination.
