Default Handbuilt Car in DXB - the King Cobra

I saw this on the front page of a tabloid today and thought ajmat had moved to the UAE!

More than the story of the car, it is also a story about life!

Quite a success story there. Nothing is impossible. These kind of stories just go to prove that dreams indeed do come true.

You want to buy one of those Steer ?

Excellent accomplishment!!

Why twin roll bars though? (the original had only one) but extra protection never hurts..especially on a custom frame and shell..

It is actually very similar on authenticity.. in regards to handling..the original 427 cobra was called a "widow maker" because of its handling..

Getting one steer?

Excellent work. Wish him all the best. It is a great project, will keep an eye out for one of these out here. The dash is simple and nice and the throw shift is beautiful.

At Dhs125k its pretty cheap....question is - WHY would I want to own one of these? This is meant for those who need cars that attract attention, and I'm not in that bucket.

I'll be going across to meet this chap, though.

How about a few for Main Chalaon Motors?

EDIT: For those who havent noticed, the 13 pics attached to the article are available on this link:

Fantastic. Thanks for that. The Cobra is one of my all-time favourites for raunch and appeal.

Wow! An achievement that is. Especially being it in UAE where anything automotive means imported.
I think I am a bit capable of the bucket Steer is talking of, so I would definitely try to get one for that price. Lekin, I will have to do the maintenance or what? :@

Amazing achievement!
It's my long time dream to drive an AC Cobra someday. Monster power, short wheelbase and a challenge to keep on the road.

0-100 in 3.6 secs? Wish it had wings, so that it could fly

Wow looks pretty good. And nice engine.

So when can we expect this on Top Gear? (Jezza are you listening?)

Great lunch read, and cheers to his spirit. I do hope that his cars meet with some level of market success.

Do ask him if he plans to export to India. Does he have plans for any other car designs?
