Default Fiat Adventure Locker

Interesting name for this car!

Fiat Automotives Brazil has introduced this version today. It is the Palio Adventure with a normal FWD option, but the car comes equipped with an Electronic front slip differential. Hence the name "Locker".

I am posting the English translation of the news which is originally in Spanish. This page also contains the picture of the new "Adventure Locker".

Oh! what a rush of blood I am feeling! I've probably not felt like
this for ages! What a feeling! What a car! For me, the Adventure has now
reached the status, even above the CRV/Captiva/Tuscon etc. It looks like
a TRUE SUV now with the raised suspension system. We need this SUV
here. FIAT are you listening? Can you imagine a 1.9L, 150bhp, 30kgm
torque Adventure Locker? Man, I need to hold on to something now ;-)

This beast would eat the Punto/Linea/Safari/Scorpio for breakfast! FIAT, I take a bow for this fantastic design!

You can do this only to a PALIO! What a versatile platform! What a car!

Looks nice, though the excess black plastic is a damper. If they toned down the billion grooves and grilles at the back, and bodycoloured the whole thing, it would look quite something. The rear is oh-so-Q7 though.

Note from mod: please stick to topic

Back reminds me more of a Touareg. It's like a plastic factory on wheels. Ouch.

In all fairness, the 'Locker' looks awesome -- though one could say that it has excessive black plastics. I think in body color these plastics would look ok.. but then black looks rugged.

Looks apart, the tech specs look great.. the car would for sure be able to create a niche for itself.. but then the same could be said for all previous fiat cars.

I for sure would consider the 'Locker' if it is made available in India at a reasonable price point

nice car!!! would do well in india if it comes with a toyota or a honda badge

could do with
1) lesser grey plastic parts (looks like they over did the "MANLY-ness")
2) lesser rivet holes on the exterior plastic bits (can't imagine them being cleaned properly ever!!)
3)interiors look kinda old and dreary .... could use some silvery bits and smoother plastic

I was always of the opinion that Adventure was a good candidate for 4x4. Fiat has decided to put in mechanical slip differential for the front wheels, for whatever reason. Probably, weight and cost seem to be the reasons why they decided to go this way. I would say, this is a good candidate for India, especially with JTD. My message to Fiat, bring it on. But do something about those interiors. Even the "improved" interiors in the Brazilian Palio range of cars look drab...

One good thing with the all round use of plastics in the locker is that the body of the car will be reasonably safe from scratches/rear ending nudges that one get's in indian traffic.

So much plastic. Dated interiors.

Maybe Fiat India will launch this in India in 2077 a.d.; a year after they will launch it in Mars...
