Looks good, but after the S-class with smashing looks, I felt that BMW could have ventured in for a bolder design.

Is that the existing iDrive system or is it the new one inspired by Audi's MMI?

If the battery goes flat, what will happen to electronic parking brake?

The idrive controller definitely looks inspired by the MMI. The display is larger at 10.2 inches. Comes with an 8 gb hard drive as well. The new black panel instrument cluster looks good too. The car looks much better in the official pics. I like . Wait for the M7!

Looks are subjective but its a beemer afterall.Major change in rear boot design. Seems many others were getting "inspired" from the previous boot.

front end looks very butch - almost like the new X5

rear end also looks a bit "raised up" and not the low slung look the current model has.. that definetly looks odd but im sure it was meant to maybe aid better engine placement/release more space inside

and look at those front overhangs !! almost nothing -

I like the rear lights a lot but doesn't it look like a face lifted present gen 7 series?
I mean its not radically different as the S class was from its predecessor. Put both nest to each other and the older one looks dated. Not the same case with the present gen and the to be released 7 series. The front looks a lot like the six series and the rear has a lot of the 5 series in it.
Although I still love it, im quite disappointed with the almost similar lines.
BMW officially unveiled the new-generation BMW 7-Series at an event in Munich. It goes on show to the public at the Paris Motor Show this September and will be on sale in November.

1)
Now new engines will be available with this 7-Series.

There is also video inside.

2)
IMO, the front bonnet is raised because of the Euro NCAP laws for pedestrian protection.

Interesting points to note about BMW's technical tour de force
  • standard air suspension has been taken out and its back to coils
  • double wishbone instead of McPherson Struts up front
  • all versions will have turbos
  • 740i is actually a 6 cyl
  • RWS is standard and a first for BMW
  • base wheels drop down in size from 19" to 18"

Its just a matter of time to get adjusted to the new looks of the Beemer. The huge kidney grill will now make way for other Beemer models to follow.
I just love this model , its detailing is amazingcheers:

If this is actually the new 7series, I am disappointed. Looks very similar to the 5, even the interiors.
