And is the CCR a production model? I thought the last one was CC8S.

Though I don't question it's straight line abilities, I haven't heard it break any records on the NS yet.

I took part in the Gumball in 2003 and know for a fact that the Keonigsegg did hit 241mph on a strecth in Texas. It was a CC8S.

Keenigsegg is really a wonderful car unlike some of the other swedish car. Regarding the Gumball run, Check out this video at www.espritfactfile.com go to the video section, at the end there is the link to other goodies. in that u would find a mpg called mischeif3000.mpg. It is fun to watch, although there is not Koenigsegg, it has some cool cars and really crazy stuff.

If their claims have any credibility in then it IS a big event. But they needed 180 more bhp to get 2 mph more on top speed. Where are supercars heading????

well yes , and Coeff.Drag plays a lot of role after some speed, so need lot of power and air cheating surfaces to make each mph count.

And like Stratos said, the brilliance of the McLaren is in it's BMW engine which, in spite of being naturally aspirated, achieved this some 8 years ago.

With 806bhp and 920nm of torque, this car should have cracked the 400kmph barrier.
Ya, no one will ever be able to make anythign like the McLaren ever again. That car is is the MOTHER of all SUPERCARS ever to have existed, and that ever will. They can break its speed barrier, bt they will never match its timeless (not to mention aerodynamically brilliant) curves, nor its sheer road presence, nor itss Decade-Of-Supremacy. Nothing will ever be able to do what the McLaren did (ok, I gotta stop repeating myself... hehe...). That is the ultimtae dream car.

P.S. I don't like the shape of the CCR ( I know, but its the same initails as Credence Clearwater Revival, who all had great initial success, but then everybody forgot they're music with the onset of modern rock... so, we know what the fate of the CCR will be!!)

Just what i was thinking. Coz i have a vid of a Mclaren reaching 391kmph. But the official top speed is around 385-386kmph, very confusing.

Yeah, I got that video too... anyone have information on the Official Speed Checking Whatever-They-Call-Themselves???
