Looks HOT!! And i agree, we'll have to wait and see what engine options they can throw our way. This should destroy Swift sales, and going by the number of them on the road, it's about time for a change (Go Obama )

Was this shot on the NH4?

even i would agree with all that this is some seriously good-looking hatch.
It would easily kill swift's sales as hyundai is far better quality wise as compared to Maruti as per my experience and also i20's looks are more refreshing than swift's
Read in ACI NOV issue that , it would come only in 2 engines options, petrol one having 79bhp/11.4kgm and diesel one having 75bhp/22.4kgm although it's made with 7 engine options internationally. more info on Hyundai's i20 to hit roads next month- Automobiles-Auto-News By Industry-News-The Economic Times
Also , ACI said it would be launched in JAN 09 though on most of the websites , its being speculated that it would be launched by end nov.

This is no doubt a serious looker! This car has excellent road presence.
Im not to sure about it killing Swift sales as this car will surely be more expensive. There will be a dent in Swift sales no doubt , but only pricing will
tell how big the dent could be. I personally feel Honda Jazz might spoil the i20 party next year, But i20 has the CRDI and neater looks .

It looks like the new elantra in US market. They come with inline 4 and around 140 HP. I dont think they are going to keep the same in india.

The i20 looks really wide.
I feel it will be way better in Comfort than the Swift.

Looks are very nice.
Hope they offer a wider size of tyres when it is launched.

i20 is not going to be priced in the Swift segment. It's probably going to take on the Fabia and the upcoming Fiat GP.

Looks HOT, i would too state it as a one of the hottest looking hatch on Indian roads till now. Though tyres need to be upgraded.

When it is launched. Got to understand that given the market conditions, Hyundai has postponed the launch to Jan 2009 atelast.

Or is a marketing gimmick to push sales of Getz & i10 ?

Default Spotted the I20

Was driving from Blore to Chennai last eve and had crossed Kanchipuram and stopped for Dinner. When I started again, I saw a car pass by and couldnt identify the car. So pushed my ride to reach the car and then figured out that it was a hyundai, not because I could see the badge but it has a TD board (red one) and TN 21 in its registration. Could it have been the i20? It seemed bigger than the Getz though.

I assume that it was an i20... It was cruising in slower speed around 75 - 80 KMph. The driver didnt like me staring at him and immediately slowed down and dropped behind me.

and that will be the toughest challenge. I20s cant be compared with Skoda Fabias build quality but it is overpriced. If I20 is priced below Fabia and par with Fiat GP it will be a huge success since Skodas service will burn hole in your pocket and Fiats service is still a letdown after tata take over. I20 will be the only car in this league which can give topnotch after sales support.
