it looks like a jacked up 7 series without boot, but its good looking unlike the ugly X3. hope they replace the X3 with X1.

If launched in India, will definitely go against the Mitsubishi Pajero 2.8 or the Suzuki GV. Internationally it may compete with the Toyota Rav4 or the Audi Q3.

X1 is not the replacement of X3. BMW is trying to create a completely new product segment. The X3, Z4 & Current 7 Series are the only cars that do not carry the BN2000. These are all due for replacement starting with the 7 Series (F02). Watch out for the new 7 as it is expected to be launched by the end of this year.
X3 & Z4 are next on the block but not before BMW settles with the launch of F02 which is expected to be more demanding than the current E66.
On the X1, the grille is much too similar to the new 7 Series. It is quoted to be the defining model with regards to driving dynamics of SUVs/SAVs. Let's see what is the end result. I guess, just like the 1 Series, the Mini, BMW will not launch X1 in India. The focus is on bigger models and so...we will see the new 7 Series & perhaps the X6 in the days to come.
