Default Vehicles used by VIPs in India?

I was just searching through Team-BHP and couldn't find any thread where cars used by VIPs like the President, PM are discussed. I know the President uses a S Class limo and the PM a 7 Series. If its legally allowed, can we have a discussion around the models, known specifications, photos of these cars?
I for one would be very interested, plus quite a few folk I know are very interested in what cars our leaders use to travel.

Mods: Please move thread to appropriate section if necessary

We should also use domestic cars ( like many countries do) for PM and President, instead of imported ones to promote indianness.

Talking Re: The new presidential car!

May 23, 2011: President Barack Obama's limo got stuck exiting the U.S. Embassy in Ireland on his way to a speech in Dublin. Secret Service agents hid the car from public view while they freed the car's tires.

Dayyum. That was gross. Wonder if Obama got "The Chill" like we used to get when our underbellies scrape But I am thoroughly impressed by the security official's job. The split second tactical decisions they take on a completely unexpected scenario, see the official making use of the Fiat van to blind the President from the crowd. Hats off!

Leave everything else check out the thickness of the limo doors. Must be at least 6 inches.

The illustration on the first page mentioned that the driver window goes down few inches for say paying toll etc. Toll? Seriously, for the president of the USA? EZPass, anyone?

Wow! How incompetent can the drivers/chauffeurs of the presidential entourage get. Firstly, when the 7 series itself scraped the underbody hard, shouldn't the chauffeur of the obamobile just slow down or do something so that it doesn't get stuck?! Or even the 7 series chauffeur should have radioed the other car about the gigantic bump ahead! Thats a real shame. LOL!

This looks like a deficiency in the Presidential car. Low GC. I thought maneuverability was a key security requirement. What if there is an ambush?

PS: I dont think president will make it from Bangalore Airport to Bellandur on ORR, if he ever comes visiting. The speedbreakers will block this car.

Default 'The Beast' breaks down in Israel.. Towed away!

Barack Obama’s Beast limo breaks down in Israel after fuel blunder (filled with diesel) ?

Reports are coming in from Israel that President Obama's limousine, "The Beast," has broken down and had to be towed away..

While we wonder how the most protected vehicle in the world could break down on an overseas visit, the answer surprises us -- Apparently, somebody filled The Beast with diesel fuel instead of gasoline, according The Times of Israel.

"The Americans filled it up with diesel, rather than petrol," reports Channel 2 - stressing that it was the Americans, not the Israelis.

What does the Secret Service do when the President's ride has been compromised this way ? Since calling a cab is out of the question, they reportedly have a replacement limousine being flown in from in Jordan.

This is so incredible ! When the President is on a trip , local or overseas, the fuel for his car and his plane goes with him. Local stuff is not used. The servicing, refueling, repair are all responsibility of the secret service. Who were the morons who filled the 'Beast' with diesel ? This must have been done using a funnel and a can because the nozzle of a diesel pump will not fit the car's filler . At least that is how any car that uses unleaded gas is built ! Having suffered the damage, the Beast is headed for a complete engine overhaul. Stupid, stupid, stupid ! Remember , it does not have the same engine as the Shaktiman truck of the Indian Army .
