Least Efficient Minivan: Toyota Sienna 4WD. => (City 16 mpg, Highway 21 mpg)
Least Efficient Sport Utility Vehicle: Jeep Grand Cherokee 4WD. => (City 11 mpg, Highway 14 mpg.)
Least Efficient Small Pickup Truck: Ford Ranger Pickup 4WD. => (City 14 mpg, Highway 18 mpg.)
Least Efficient Midsize Car: Ferrari 612 Scaglietti. => (City 9 mpg, Highway 16 mpg.)
Least Efficient Compact Car: Bentley Azure. => (City 9 mpg, Highway 15 mpg)

Don't know how this is calculated, but there was a race done in TG (the great supercar 1 gallon showdown) and the following was the result
Ferrari 599 : 1.7 MPG
Aston Martin : 2.5 MPG
Mercedez SLR : 3 MPG
Lambo Murcielago: 4.1 MPG
Audi R 8 : 5 MPG

Also there was a Special feature in which the BMW M 3 was driven around the track slowly and the PRius was floored: Result

PRius : 15 MPG
M3 : 17 MPG

So its all about the way you drive.

cheers,
ac

These runs are done under normal driving conditions.

What top gear did was just a test to see how cars perform under varying conditions.

TopGear did the super car test under normal conditions. They drove the cars like they are supposed to be driven. FLAT OUT.
