VolksWagen is all set to bring in the new VW Golf GTI!

The car has a 2.0liter FSI turbo petrol engine delivers a thumping 200bhp and 280Nm of torque between 1800-5000rpm. It has a 6 Speed gear box.
Some performance figures:

0-100kmph: 7.2seconds
60-100kmph roll on in 5th gear: 7.5 seconds
Mileage:8liters/100kms
Max Speed: 235kmph!!

Another option is the DSG (dual clutch gearbox) that helps in fast gear changes and rockets the car from 0-100kmph in 6.9 Seconds!!!

I always loved the Golf, specially the new one and after this Gti, I just adore it!

I guess we will have to wait for some reviews on this one. VW expressed their desire to go back to the GTi basics for this one. I just hope they went as far into the basics as the Mk1 Gti.

Guys, I finally got to see the new Golf GTI! A Tornado Red and Candy white 2 door Golf's were shown to us at the VW Canada corporate office. Didn't get a test drive yet but it's a matter of a couple of weeks till I get to drive one.

The car looks sharp and comes with a host of standard features which include xenon's and 6 air bags. Pricing starts at CAD 29,400 approx. I loved the car. lovely grippy seats, nice small GTI steering , short crips throws of the gear were some stand out features. Even standing still, the car looks every inch a driver's car. Can't wait to drive this baby!

There is no way even a normal Golf can be below 6 lakhs, leave alone the Golf GTI.

GTI will be at least 18 lakhs if it ever comes.....

When the Jetta was launched, I walked up to a German Guy from VW, and blatantly asked him, "When are you people from VW gonna wake up from your slumber and give us the Golf!!" So he laughed and said, "Not anytime soon my friend, But why dont you go in for a jetta instead?" So i polietly told him. "I am a car enthusiast. Not a normal Person". He just smiled and kept quiet, Handed me his card and left!!!!

The all new, Mk7 Volkswagen Golf GTI has been spied undergoing final testing before an expected showroom launch early next year. The all-important GTI is rumoured to be powered by a 260bhp turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine and will get the firm’s new VAQ front differential for “more agile steering behaviour”.

The Mk7 Golf is the second model — after the Audi A3 — to be based on the VW Group’s new MQB architecture. It will be unveiled at the Paris show in September before reaching showrooms early next year
