Thanks for the pics AyAn, though my opinion on it hasn't changed too much.

The alloys look like they have gone back in time, with the same chamfered edge as the 348's wheels.

One question though : For a V8, how on earth does it have THREE exhaust outlets?? Which pipes to how many cylinders? Are the ones on the outsides bigger? Perhaps 3cyl, 2cyl, 3cyl per pipe?

Unlike the bangle era beemers which fell in the love-it/loathe-it category, Ferraris of late have an additional category - likeable. The 458 would slot into that category. The F430 was gorgeous, the Enzo an ugly duckling and the 612 Scaglietti was again, likeable.

Ferrari almost seem to have done a Lambo with the front end of the Italia. Aggressive? Yes. Gorgeous? Maybe not.

Just some zoom zoom overtakes. Good to watch for some, just because it's Ferrari's.

Re 3 exhausts - they are actually 4
If we carefully take a look at the central exhaust we find that it contains 2 pipes fused together. It therefore has 4 exhausts like any other Modern Ferrari.

I have also heard that Ferrari has made the Scuderia shields optional (missing in Black 458). These shields reflect the rich culture of Ferrari and I don't see any point in making them optional. More than this the cavallino in front may have to be removed to give way to the Number Plates. None of the displayed car addressed this issue.

Default Felipe Massa meets the Ferrari 458 Italia

Two months after his horrible accident, Felipe Massa has returned to his "second family" in Maranello, Italy.

While the event was mostly a photo-op, Felipe took some time to chat with Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa and tour the 458 Italia production facilities. In the coming days, Massa will "...work with the simulator, have technical meetings with the engineers, and do lots of physical exercise."

As for when Massa will return to racing, it doesn't appear to be anytime soon. According to team manager Stefano Domenicali, "Felipe has to get back on top: he has a demanding period ahead of him with constant activities, but he knows that we're not in a hurry."

Nice pics Hanmust, good to see the Massa active around Ferrari. He has completed the test at Fiorano in a 2007 car with GP2 tyres and that went pretty well.

Massa said "I feel as if the accident never happened".

The 458 looks BEAUTIFUL, no doubt about that. The front air intake area (alongwith the winglets to direct air) and those beautiful 3 pipe exhausts surely tells its not made for the Americans like the 'California'.

I really like the design, though i`m not at all impressed by the headlamps !

There are always from specific lines that each car manufacturer prefer to follow, everyone does it. Even the SLR looks like a muscular mutant version of the SLK, so in the same way the 458 will surely carry the lines from 430 and take some from the Enzo. IMHO.

Looking at those exhaust pipes reminded me of this beauty though

Italians sure know how to make beautiful automobiles!
