Aldar Properties on Thursday announced the completion of the external structure of Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, located close to the new F1 circuit on Yas Island.

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is set to be the world's largest indoor theme park and the first ever Ferrari theme park when it opens in 2010.

Mohammed Al Mubarak, chief commercial officer, Aldar Properties, said: "We are delighted to have reached this landmark in the development of Ferrari World Abu Dhabi. We are proud to be a part of bringing Ferrari to Abu Dhabi."



The iconic sleek red roof directly inspired by the classic double curve side profile of the Ferrari GT body covers a surface area of 200,000 sq m and features the largest Scuderia Ferrari "prancing horse" emblem in the world, measuring 66m in diameter.

The company said the park's superstructure had been completed in 14 months, with more than 4,500 workers involved in the construction project on a daily basis.



A joint venture management construction company owned by Aldar and Besix, the largest Belgian construction group, is responsible for the management of the project, whilst UK firm Benoy is the architect and lead consultant.

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi will be operated by Farah Leisure Park Management LLC (Farah), a joint venture between Aldar and ProFun Management Group.

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi will host over 20 state-of-the-art attractions, including the world's fastest rollercoaster, travelling at speeds exceeding 200km/h emulating the thrilling sensation of being in a Ferrari F1 car.

oh. so its goingto be a theme park like disneyland. there probably will be toy cars with prancing horses on them.
On a serious note, i was assuming this would be more or less like a museum/motorsports complex or something like that.
Didn't expect to see a prancing horse roller coaster.
All the rides could carry names of various ferrari models eh.

Those pics are all CGI. I have been there and will post the actual pictures shortly.

The roof is red and has a gigantic Ferrari logo on it. They say it is the biggest such logo in the world and can be seen from outer space !

The roller coaster is going to be teh longest of its kind and will be make it to the record books.

This is the first ever Ferrari Theme Park and will have some classic cars on display too apart from some cool rides.

The reason it was developed here is that then Abu Dhabi rulers thru their investment arm MUBADALA own a healthy chunk of Ferrari now. Their airlines Etihad is one of the sponsors of teh F1 team and most importantly the land and the building are given free to the park by the government.

The structure is complete and interior fitting is going on. These past few days the side courtyard facing the Yas Marina Circuit was where the concerts have been held. It was Beyonce on Thursday, Jamiroquai on Friday the Kings of Leon played last night and today after the F1 its gonna be Aerosmith. What more can one ask for ???

its got a long way to go, but i cant wait for it to open so i can come back. It looks like a fun project.

Here are a few pictures I took of the Ferrari Word Theme Park coming up on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.

The structure is almost complete and so is the twin roller coaster track and interiors are being worked on as we speak. Will open sometime next year well ahead of the last F1 race that will again happen here.

I plan on being the first 100 to visit this place when it opens next year.

They have the worlds longest roller coaster coming up and to add spice to it there are twin tracks so two cars race each other on the roller coaster. Sublime !!
