Another Chrysler recall.

Chrysler recalling about 37,000 Ram trucks, 15,000 Darts.

Quote:

The two recalls come a week after Chrysler said it refused a request from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to recall 2.7 million 1993-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokees and 2002-2007 Libertys for an alleged fire risk caused by fuel tanks mounted behind the rear axle.

GM is recalling about 480,000 SUVs from 2006-2007 model years for risk of window switch fires & short circuits, which can cause the locks to function intermittently and even cause the door to melt and catch fire. These SUVs include (discontinued) Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Buick Rainier, Saab 9-7X, Isuzu Ascender, GMC Envoy XL & Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT.

Honda is recalling over 18K 2006-2007 Honda S2000 & 2006 Acura RSX cars to fix weak brakes. As per the company, these cars have brake boosters that can cause "decreased brake assistance over time" and make it harder for drivers to stop the vehicle.

Hyundai is recalling 5200 units of its large car 2012-13 Azera in US for faulty airbag sensors that can wrongly deploy the passenger airbag.

Quote:
In some 2012-2013 Azeras, the capacitive sensors in the front passenger seat, which are designed to detect the difference between a child, an adult and a car seat, can malfunction due to a change in the seating fabric. As a result, in a crash the airbag either may not deactivate or may deploy at a lower speed than necessary. The new fabric can alter the conductivity of the sensors in the seat cushion below, Hyundai said. At least five warranty claims, triggered by an airbag fault warning light were reported to Hyundai.

Airbags may deploy on the wrong side - Chrysler recalls over 280k minivans.

Quote:
Chrysler has issued a recall for some 2013 Town & CountryDodge Grand Caravan and Ram C/V Tradesman vans built between May 10, 2012 and June 7, 2013. These vehicles may have a software error that would cause the wrong side (opposite side) airbags to deploy in a crash. With this defect, a left-side impact would cause the right-side airbag to deploy, etc.

The recall affects 281,500 vehicles in total: 224k in the US, 49,300 in Canada, 2,900 in Mexico and 5,300 in other locations. Chrysler will notify owners of effected vehicles, and reflash the offending occupant restraint control module to resolve the issue.

2013 Dodge Grand Caravan and 2013 Chrysler Town & Country

The Problem: The airbag control modules may have been incorrectly programmed, which could prevent the airbags from deploying in an accident. Almost all of the affected cars are still on dealer lots, so Chrysler has no reports of injuries or crashes due to this incident.

The Fix: Chrysler will replace the affected airbag control modules.

Number Of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 226 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country minivans, of which 184 are in the U.S. and 180 have yet to be sold to customers

2014 Honda CTX700T and CTX700N recalled.

ABS problems for several Honda CTX700T and CTX700N, as the manufacturer issued a recall. So far only 13 motorcycles have been reported as being affected by this problem, but it looks like some more will join the party, just like pretty much every time.
Honda says that the ABS modulator may have been incorrectly manufactured and could fail, leading to an inactive anti-lock braking system which could cause a crash in certain cases.

A new series of recalls by Chrysler was announced by the U.S. safety regulators today.

In total, Chrysler will recall 71,530 vehicles across the U.S. and Canada.

A group of Jeep Grand Cherokee and Compass utility vehicles equipped with premium headlights could be affected by a flaw that will cause the lights to turn off unexpectedly. A total of 4,674 units are affected between the U.S. and Canada, although the Compass was only included in the Canadian portion of the campaign.
Drivers may find that while switching between their daytime running lights and parking lights the lamps can shut off completely.

Chrysler recalls 2013 Ram

Chrysler is recalling about 47,000 Ram 1500 full-size and 4500/5500 heavy-duty pickup trucks over ESC software and track bar issues respectively.

45,961 of the affected vehicles are Ram 1500 trucks built between June 26, 2012 and February 5, 2013. These trucks are being recalled due to a potential software glitch that may disable the Electronic Stability Control when the vehicle is started. Pickup Trucks
A disabled ESC system may result in loss of directional control, increasing the risk of a crash.

The company also recalled 1,058 Ram 4500 and 5500 heavy-duty trucks built from January 22, 2013 through March 8, 2013, stating that “an incorrect bolt may have been used to attach the track bar to the frame”, which could result in the vehicle suddenly pulling to one side.
