General Motors is recalling 18,941 2013-2014 Chevrolet Camaro coupes to reapply airbag warning labels on the sun visors, which can peel off on its own. This is based on a statutory requirement of the US Government to warn that children can be injured or killed by airbags.

The company is also recalling 1,227 2013/2014 Chevrolet Sonic models to fix fuel tank support brackets that can break & cause the tank to drag on the exhaust pipe or complete fall off from the car.

Ford recalling 24k Focus EV and C max models.

Ford will be voluntarily recalling 23,830 Focus Electric and C-Max Hybrid and Energi models equipped with push-button ignition, according to Why? Because the cars don't make a noise when the driver's door is open, and are therefore in violation of federal regulations

GM recalls 1,658 Chevy Sonics to replace fuel tank part.

]General Motors is recalling 1,658 Chevrolet Sonic cars, as potentially faulty strap welds could cause the fuel tank to separate from the car

The recall of 2013 and 2014 models affects 1,558 cars in the United States and 100 in Canada, most of which are still on dealer lots. The automaker said it knows of no accidents, fires or injuries related to the issue.

]If the strap bracket separated, the fuel tank would rest on the exhaust pipe or plastic fuel tank shield, possibly leading to a rattling or scraping noise, GM said. If the shield and fuel filler neck did not support the tank, it could separate from the car.

If the fuel tank were punctured and there were a source of ignition, a fire could occur, which discovered the issue at Orion Assembly in Michigan.

Toyota recalling 10k vehicles to fix wiper switches.

Toyota has announced a voluntary recall covering approximately 10,000 cars in the United States. Affected models include the 2013-14 Camry and Camry Hybrid 2013-14 Avalon and Avalon Hybrid, and the brand new 2014 Corolla

Quote:
During manufacture of the wiper switch assembly in the involved vehicles, certain contacts on the switch terminal could have been manufactured incorrectly." This could lead to a short in the circuit when the wiper switch is moved between "off" and "mist," and thus, cause the windshield wipers to stop working

Toyota recalls 803,000 Camry, Avalon, Venza sedans in US.

Globally, the recall involves about 885,000 Camry, Avalon and Venza sedans, including 44,000 in Canada, 10,600 in Mexico, 9,100 in Saudi Arabia and the rest scattered among 15 countries.

Water from the condenser can leak onto the airbag control module, which could cause the airbag to inflate and deploy at the wrong time, Toyota said. Also, power steering may be affected by a leaky condenser.

Harley Davidson is calling nearly 30, 000 new hogs for clutch repair.

The issue apparently involves the hydraulic clutch, which has reportedly proven difficult in certain circumstances to disengage. If you can't disengage the clutch, you could have trouble slowing down or stopping, potentially resulting in a crash.

Hyundai recalls 27,500 Genesis sedans for brake issue.

The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened the preliminary evaluation after receiving 23 consumer complaints alleging reduced brake effectiveness, according to documents filed online. Several complaints said the problem was diagnosed as a faulty antilock brake system module.

Hyundai said it is recalling the cars, which were built from April 1, 2008, through March 16, 2012, to replace the brake fluid.

General Motors is recalling additional 8,050 2013 Cadillac ATS, XTS, 2014 Chevrolet Impala & Chevrolet Sonic cars for vehicles in which brake lights can randomly illuminate, & cruise control systems can suddenly shut off. As per the company, "electrical noise" interfering with the body control module can cause the problems.

Nissan is recalling 2,529 NV200 vans (Evalia in India) from 2013 to fix a battery wiring harness that can fray & cause a short circuit.

Quote:
The Mexican-built compact commercial vans, also known as New York's "Taxi of Tomorrow," have rough edges on the wiring clamps inside the harness that can poke through the insulation, which could could let separate wires touch a metal bracket that routes the harness to the battery's fuse terminal. As a result, the harness could melt and the fuse could blow, cutting the fuel pump and the engine.

Porsche is recalling 207 Cayenne SUVs (base 2013-2014 Cayenne, 2013 Diesel, 2013-2014 GTS & the 2014 S, S Hybrid, Turbo & Turbo S) from 2013 to recalibrate fuel level senders, which calculate the amount of fuel in the tank, were not calibrated properly at the factory that can show an incorrect level of fuel. This can lead to estimated range on the trip computer showing remaining miles when, in fact, there are none leaving the vehicle stranded.

Nissan is recalling 188k+ suvs worldwide due to a potentially faulty brake software that can lead to crash.

Quote:
On rough or uneven roads the software used to control the vehicles' antilock braking could malfunction and result in longer stopping distances than drivers might expect. As a result, a motorist might rear end another vehicle, for example, or fail to stop in time at an intersection.
This recall includes 2013-2014 Nissan Pathfinders & Infiniti's three-row crossover the 2013 JX35 (renamed the QX60 in 2014).

Of the 188,302 Nissan SUVs affected worldwide, 151,695 of them were sold in the United States during the 2013 & 2014 model-years & remaining vehicles were sold in Canada, China, Russia, Mexico, India & other parts of the world.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution recalled!

Mitsubishi will be recalling over 10,000 Lancer Evolutions built between December 12, 2007 and March 5, 2013, covering model years 2008 to 2013.
The recall only affects cars with manual transmissions, though, so if you opted for a Lancer Evo with a quick-shifting SST, this recall doesn't apply to you.

The recall relates to a failure in the clutch master cylinder, making shifting in and out of gear difficult. Consequently, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that this could increase the odds of crashing.

A tiny recall - GM limit a recall to 4 cars!

Quote:
The owner of a Chevrolet brings the car to a dealership, saying its brakes have been locking up. An engineer discovers that a brake valve in the car has a hole in the wrong spot because it was loaded into the wrong machine in manufacturing and cannot properly relieve the brake fluid pressure when the driver slams on the brakes.
Quote:

On May 30, the automaker assigned an engineer to dig into a database that tracks the parts used in its cars, and it collected manufacturing records from the supplier -- in this case, TRW Automotive. Within a month, GM had identified all the cars on U.S. soil with the faulty valve, called their owners and sent a formal notice to the U.S. government.

That is a quick turnaround, but what was more striking was this: The total number of cars touched by the U.S. recall was four. Not 4 million. Not 4,000. Four.

Audi recall continue...

It seems that the call back is expanding further into Audi’s range, with the A8, as well as it’s go-fast version, the S8, now being recalled over a sunroof issue.

It appears that the glass sunroof could break and while the shreds could injure the vehicle occupants, the distraction itself could cause the driver to crash the vehicle.

The sunroof is standard feature on the US A8 and S8 models belonging to the 2013 and 2014 model years, so they’re all being called back.

Thus, a total of 1,120 A8 units will see their panoramic sunroofs being replaced at no cost.
