Default Monster Trucks!

I had the opportunity to go see the Monster Jam show in Houston 2 weekends ago.I had seen a bit of it earlier, but never really looking into getting tickets to see the show live at the Reliant Stadium.Courtesy my wife, managed to experience what these huge trucks are capable of!

There were many rounds:
1) The very first one is a competition between two racers. The trucks are parked on opposite ends of the ground, and when the lights turn green, each driver is allowed to complete 1/2 a circle around the ground and the person who crosses the 1/2 mark line wins first.Basically, each person gets to pick up speed and then after the final launch into the air, lands across the white line that indicates the exact 1/2 of the round path.

2) Next was a pretty funny race.Folks in battered cars race while having trailers attached to the cars/SUVs. They can ram into each other and push others out of the way.Kinda hilarious, to watch those jokers rip each others cars apart!

3) The main event of the evening, each contestant is given 90 secs to do all kinda of stunts and display acrobatics while driving their trucks around.
The amount of torque these trucks have is INSANE!!

I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Check out the size of the wheels! The guy standing next to the truck was probably more than 6' in height, and the wheels looks just a bit smaller than him. Sorry for some of the blurry pics!

The Ironman returns! He was the crowd favorite for sure, winning 2 of the competitions.Unfortunately, he ended with 2 flat tires after one run.

The trucks were literally doing wheels on every acceleration, sometimes lifting the front wheels as much as 10ft.

On the way back, I saw a person taking one of the wheels that came off a truck.Must have bought the thing as a souvenier!

The blue cars on left side in 1st pic is Pontiac Grand AM from late 90's and right side looks like a Buick design. In 3rd pic left blue car is Ford Taurus, from 1997-1998 era. Even other blue car in 3rd pic also looks like earlier generation Taurus to me, but I am not so sure. I literally hate the Taurus. Don't know how the hell Ford came up with that blunder design. but it is good to see someone is making good use of junk. May all Taurus be treated like this. I know the Chevy wagon in 1st pic as well but I am trying to recall its name.

The cars in the 1st pics are the Pontiac Grand Am, and the one to the right is Chevy Caprice. The Taurus is probably a 1994-1998 design.

I have 2 videos that I'm trying to upload. As soon as they'r available I'll post them here.

@ SamtheLeo: My guess would be anywhere close to 800bhp, if not more. The amount of torque these engines have- imagine a 8000-9000 lb truck doing a wheelie. The engines are typically 9.2L F350 supercharged engines.
