Unhappy Beware of that new car smell

Recent research in Japan has shown that the new car smell that majority of us love is actually toxic and could trigger headaches, nausea, drowsiness, sore throats and prolonged exposure could probably even lead to cancer! (ouch!). Frankly the cancer part sounds a bit far fetched to me. Car makers are working to reduce the gases and chemicals that lead to the new car smell. Maybe one day we may get a new car with none of that lovely new car smell.

That smell gives me a headache. I take delivery only after they've ripped off all those plastic seat covers, left the car open for at least an hour and then liberally sprayed Nivia's neutral-smell deo throughout the insides.

Agree to you, but i think this should only worry those who are working in Car showrooms, Otherwise how often will most of us buy a new car... and when we buy one I would love to have the smell atleast for few days

For the pleasure of smelling (?) that new car smell...I can live with a headache and a sore throat.
