Looks more of a "Chinese" car. For a moment I though its a Chinese replica of the Maybach!!!. Those tail lights look dull and the led's at front look cheap for a car like Maybach. Interiors material is good but overall design looks old.

Tough for the Maybach to make a case for itself, when you have the brilliant S500L as your sister. The S is overall the better car, has more tech and is a generation or two newer. Not to mention, one can buy the S for a fraction of the price!

Yes, that is why Maybach is the worst selling cars in UK alongwith VW Phaeton.

Somewhere the Maybach looses out when compared to the RR. Lacks character and the snob value of a big Rolls.

Frankly, this facelift is hideous and makes an already bad-looking car a little worse. The deal-breakers for most would be the grille, alloys and the horrible two-tone paint scheme.

BTW, the interiors are awesome, extraordinary and too good to be true.

As already pointed out, Maybach doesn't make a good business proposition when the car below this in the Daimler stable (the awesome S Class) is widely regarded as "The Best Car in the World".

I'd disagree with that. The Maybach isn't moving off the shelves, simply because it doesn't have the badge (say, of a Rolls) and the fact that its cheaper sibling (S500 / S600) offer more tech, and the same luxury for 1/4 the price.

The VW Phaeton, on the other hand, was priced a notch below the S & the 7. It also offered equivalent comfort & performance. The only reason it failed is because of the badge (VW = peoples car). Trivia about the Phaeton : Piech told the designers that the Phaeton W12 should be able to cruise at 300 kph all day. In summer!

+++++ and the worst thing is the brand recall . People instantly associate it with Mercedes. They need to work on this and the shape too. It just feels like a stretched eloangated version of W220 with fancy light scheme. The engineering and everything about the car may be different from an S-class but sadly, they are not able to convey the same message to people. The Visual delight on seeing a RR / Bentley is something . The same cannot be said about Maybach.

Wishing them all the best. If they want the brand to succeed they need to reinvent the brand and the product. The present plot seems like a DC version of S class. This is my personal opinion. If I have hurt the feelings of any Maybach Fan, I apologise for the same.

This seems like a case of "a botox treatment for overcoming midlife crisis, going horribly wrong"
From the front, it looks like an E class with a weird grill.
Interiors are obviously First Class but overall there's hardly change from the previous version.
