Default Leaked Photo of the 2011 VW Passat !

Note from Mod : Please continue the discussion on The VW Passat Review Thread (Volkswagen Passat : Test Drive & Review).

Hey Guys just came across this leaked image of the VW Passat on autospies .
Im not too sure if im allowed to put up the image here so heres the link-

http://www.autospies.com/news/Leaked...t-photo-54493/

What happens now to the existing Passat in India ? They finally got there price right (the recent 5 lakh rupee reduction), but with the new Passat not too far away, i think the Superb will continue to rule the roost.

Do not expect the VW Passat's prices to be dropped, They have already come up with a cheaper Passat TSi with manual trnasmission, Dropping prices any further will position it dangerously close to the Jetta.

Plus VW is currently on the brand building exercise, they are not very keen to sell the Jetta, Passat, Touareg and Phaeton.

They should admit both Jetta and Passat look and feel dull for the prices they come for, even Skoda has better and updated cars.

Yeah I agree. There is no way they will drop the prices any further. But i dont see any logic in people buying the present Passat.

^^ Check out the sales figures and you will be surprised to see how many units of Passat are they able to move off showroom floors.

Most car buyers in this segment are educated and well informed, they check all other other cars in the segment when they decide to buy a particular car. For somebody who has sat in Skoda Superb will find it very hard to convince himself to buy a VW Passat.

One of the reasons passats are selling because of the negative publicity skoda has got for its after sales service.Other than that superb beats it hands down.
Also shoudnt this be in the international thread?

passat has not dropped price, they have just introduced the cheaper petrol TSI engine and maintainted the 5L differential between petrol and diesel engines that even the superb has for the same engines.

They need to drop prices and may actually match the superb with a new model.

I really didn't like it. Looks to plain jane.
The Skoda is much better than this, even though this is newer and from Skoda's parent company.
Wake up VW!

DOnt think its a Passat! Its their new US-specific Camry-fighter called NBC (new basic car). Its based on Passat though.
