Default BMW's mixed bag : high safety ratings and recalls

The bad news first.

Bimmer has managed a Toyota and has started recalls of a few models. For slightly more details please visit the following (ignore the grammar though) :

Also, there seems to be a steering related issue with Z4s in the US. Recommend that Indian owners of the Z4 doublecheck with BMW India, to be safe.

Onto the good news.

The Bimmer F10 has done well in the EuroNCAP safety related tests. The Safety assist has come in for praise. Some details can be found here ( lay off the grammar) :

Fun and safe ( aka Joy ful) driving.

Regards

P.S. : I still prefer the earlier tagline - the ultimate driving machine. It seemed oh so compelling and very Teutonic. Don't you?

Good on BMW to make a proactive recall and also extend warranty's. IIRC Toyota's recall was a reactive one after a few accidents took place.

The first link is from 2008. Not news anymore. :P

(Man, I still wish F10 5 series looked as smashing as E60 from the front. When will I stop these rumblings.)
