I watched the first episode last night. After living in the US for over 2 decades, Top Gear USA + Tanner Foust = fail. The Drifter-boy is a yawn and already has too much airtime. Adam Carrolla would have been better for comic relief.
Bill Auberlen would make a great Stig.

Seinfeld and Tim Allen with Adam Carrolla would be a good host lineup.

High hopes have not I for this manufacturer advertorial disguised as a show.

Watched second episode too. Not bad at all. In fact, much better than any other motor shows or reviewers, especially in America. from my side!

Thumbs up re: TOP Gear America EDIT - Season 3 Aired

Yes i too started watching the series from yesterday. Not too great since they are trying hard to emulate exactly the same chemistry of the original trio, but their reviews are not really that bad.

I specially liked the fact that the bearded guy was trying to pull the Brits leg by calling them liars while reviewing the Aston Martin. I expect them to insult the Brits a lot more since , Jeremy Clarkson did not spare the iconic Ford Mustang and Camaro by ditching them against more expensive vehicles and finally concluding that american cars are all basically useless.

Even the fourth episode was just OK. The Ford Truck test was good but the race was gimmicky.

The paintball competition too looked like an halfhearted attempt, I couldnt under stand the connection between Humvee & the exercise that they did.

Having said that it is indeed interesting in bits & pieces & I believe thats what will keep it rolling.

The Season 2 was aired on History Channel on 24th.

Like we talked before, they have a long way to go before they are in UK's league may be they wont as there dialogues feel scripted & the chemistry doesnt look natural at times. But it was still entertaining to some extent to watch.

Anyways the latest episode can always be seen officially at following link:

Top Gear America is back with Season 3! TG USA loses hands down even if compared with TG UK. Rutledge is one of the most boring and sissy presenter for a show like Top Gear.

I felt the new season's first episode was much better among 18 shows aired. The trio heads out driving around trucks!

+1 to that. I too saw the Season 3. It was good but dont you think it was similar to the Truck challenge that TG UK had? The truck on the slope and driving around with stuff in the trailer challenge? Episode 2 deals with Muscle cars. Will that be a copy too of the TG UK muscle car challenge? Let's wait and see.

Second episode or rather the 10th one of Second Season was good! TG USA has some confusion regarding their season.

This one was a Muscle Car Special. Boys head out in Camaro, Mustang and Challenger. TG USA is improving for sure!

P.S. - Tanner Foust is pretty good driver

True. Saw the way he drifts the Mustang and holds it for around 8-10 sec? Loved the camera too and the way how it was shot.

Yeah that shot was great. Also the way he picked that dropped relay leather bag or whatever that was. Superb!

Last weeks episode was about the trio crossing the Continental Divide in their mini-vans - Town & Country, Astro and Aerostar. Good episode loved it.
