Ford F-150 is the Most American car of 2013? This may be especially true since it was the Toyota Camry, a car produced by a company based in Japan, that had held the top spot from 2009 to 2012.

Very happy to see this. F-150 is an awesome looking Truck, which maintains its own class.

As far as I could observe, Ford makes some of the best looking cars and trucks in US now. Taurus and Ford Fusion are two best looking cars that stands out on American road these days and Explorer being the best looking SUV. The new Lincoln MKZ is real killer.

Toyota designs are becoming bad to worse these days. They are following a pattern these days which makes almost every car look the same from outside. A good example is New Avalon and Camry

Same is the case with Nissan.. New Sentra ,Altima and Maxima are just identical, except the size though maxima has its own class.

And all of us know about Hyundai.

Ford F-150 has always been America's favorite and is number one selling truck in US for a long time. If we compare the total number of "vehicles" sold in US then Camry was leading the segment for some time. It could be because of recession and fuel prices that impact truck sales.

Ford and GMC perhaps? The Sierra and Sierra Denali range are mean looking machines.

Apparently, the Sierra Hybrid for ~41000 USD is one of the best selling Hybrid trucks in the US.

Top Car selling brands - 2017. Ford leads for the eighth straight year.

Like the rest of the world, Americans are shifting in thousands to SUVs and crossovers, shunning the erstwhile favourite sedans. Pick-ups, especially those from the 'Big Three' domestic brands, continue unabated by these changes.

RAV4 will likely displace Camry as the highest selling car in the US with over 400K units. The general notion that F150 truck is the highest selling is wrong. First its the F series (250, 350 etc) put together and also has huge fleet sales.

All the boys put together nearly 17M cars on US roads and another 2M in Canada....

Not sure if it means anything , but interesting to observe that all the Japs have shown YoY growth while non-Japs (except GMC) have shown YoY decline in CY2017

Following the Top Selling Car Brands, here are the Top Selling Cars in the United States.
  • Pick-Up Trucks rule the roost as usual
  • There is quite a shuffle after that. SUVs and Crossovers are rising up the order displacing the sedans.
  • Toyota RAV-4, Nissan Rogue and Honda CR-V post significant growth in 2017
  • Amongst sedans, Honda Civic is the only one in the Top 10 that grew in 2017. Toyota Camry did well to sustain sales.

Toyota Highlander should be on the list. As per this source Highlander clocked 215775 units making its way onto top 20.

From this list, below are American best selling cars.

You're right, the error is now corrected in the source as well.
