agreed with all. Real boring. very few overtaking moves. only 1 contact throught out the race. everybody who started the race, finished the race. no pitlane incidents. nothing at all. just plain boring.

Good call he drove extremely well although i did feel Webber didnt give it everything. Had it been Vettel or Hamilton chasing Alonso, they wouldnt have rolled over so easily

Only the Webber-Alonso rivalry and one passing move by Button over Rosberg are the highlights. Rest...a BIG YAWN!

This year's championship has been sealed by Vettel and Red Bull. I expected the McLarens to give a tough fight but seems like they have gone a step back.

Hope, things change is Silverstone with the new regulations.

A Boring track.

Its time they do some radical changes in the Track Layout, maybe run Anti-clockwise, maybe add some more corners, some more curves..... I am not liking VALENCIA track, European GP

Nothing more worth mentioning, i am already looking forward to the next race..
Absolutely right. The track has no character. Its just a succession of corners and barriers. On any other track, by looking at the images on a Tv you can tell exactly which point of the track you are watching.

In valencia, its been 4 years now and i still cant figure out the shape of the track. All looks the same, no character. Add 2 DRS zones whose location you cant identify and it adds up to BORING.

the racing itself was good, the track is a big fail. Should be dropped in favour of Imola

What a snooze fest it was! I fell asleep while watching.

Agree with everyone about the track. I don't understand why this race is on the calendar. Imola or magny cours are far better tracks.

The ban on off throttle blown diffusers? Yes that starts from Silverstone. Apart from that am not aware of any other rule changes being implemented.

Donno why they agreed to have two races in Spain in the first place. If they did want to add another European race why didnt they go back to France instead? Heck i'd be even happier if they had two races in Belgium every year! Theres no other track that comes close to Spa

Valencia should be dropped from the calendar. If DRS, KERS & Pirelli put together cannot make it interesting, I don't know what will.

I would prefer to watch a second race at Spa each year than this circus. Actually, thinking about it, it is a no brainer. Isn't it?

Edit: radiokidb, I didn't see your post at all. But I guess this just shows that we all love racing at Spa.

I was actually on the edge of my seat tracking the gap (on live timing) between Webber & Alonso every lap.
If the gap was less than a second, Alonso could use DRS and have a better chance to overtake. (which he did)
Likewise towards the end when Alonso just got out of the pits on the Primes.

An interesting movement noticed by another forum member on the front wing of the Mclaren that raced in Valencia.

Source: TheScuderiaNet/chris.gotfunk

Notice the bottom right of the pictures! However, this front wing did them more bad than good

The Race did seem pretty low on action, I was walking all around my place, just checking the 'action' from time to time.

When Schumacher lost his front of his Mercedes (anyone could tell that he's screwed), I was hoping that something would pick up!

And yes, the Red Bull boys have done it (again).

Silverstone should do some justice to the Sunday!

anachronix, I cannot make out anything from these pictures. Can you pls elaborate? Maybe a video clip will make it more obvious.

Reposting with some highlight! Look at the way the rear portion of the mounting point opens up on a straight line.

Note the highlight in red and the gap between the mounting point and the rear of the wing on the straights!

The wing movement had been forwarded to FIA & Mclaren team for a response by Scarbs. An update on the same here!

The opening on the straight looks like a load flexure to me (maybe it is within the legal flex limits) but the way it closes definitely looks mechanical!
