| Since Chandhok has already raced once this season for Lotus, I won't be surprised to find him in the Lotus cockpit for the Indian GP. We might have 2 Indian drivers participating in the inaugural Indian GP |

| I think it is just a marketing stratergy and nothing more. He has done good for the country but i feel he is not at the level of the current or even the previous generation racers when it comes to F1. Shame on F1 to do this mockery knowing he will be replaced after the Indian GP. Hope they dont turn F1 into IPL like monkey business. |

| Well 21st and 22nd positions are not going to please the Indian crowd. Unless some of the first timers think that Karthikeyan is fighting with Vettel when he gets lapped 5-6 times in the race. |

| Senior - BHPian | That is if they are even able to differentiate Ricciardo from Karthikeyan. Or Kovalainen from Chandhok. |

| There are corporates in many sectors in India that can provide the monetary backing for future ( and current ) f1 potentials. Staging the event in Delhi and having Indian drivers in the grid will certainly help maximize the potential of local sponsors. Though I dread the possibility of pan & gutka logos on F1 cars .. |

| Karthikeyan in the Indian Grand Prix edition seems like a marketing stunt to attract more Indians to the event according to me. I'm sure he would soon be replaced once the Grand Prix moves out of India. Hope things improve next season. |

| +1, I wouldnt get too excited by this news, its just a marketing gimmic especially needed by the low budget teams that count on fan base to help out in their budget. I hear that red bull is going to get there cars to race on Rajpath road. Now, this will attract some eye balls for sure. |

| Do you think Narain or Karun would have made it into F1 at all had there not been an Indian GP in 2011? |

Narain (Karun?) is given a chance to wave at the crowd from an F1 car in an Indian GP, thats it! Its a cheap marketing stunt Bernie wants to throw at the Indians to bring him more money! I dont think we need a thread to talk about this IMO! | |
