So there it is! After dog scares, dust and the ever present doubters, the organizers have pulled it off, good show!

The race itself was not the most exciting, but hey, we had a Force India finish in the top 10 and Kartikeyan coming in 17th, beating his much fancied team mate, Ricciardo. Superb drive from the great man, Schumacher to finish 5th despite qualifying outside the top 10...watched on by his friend and fellow hall-of-fame member, Mr. Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar.

Top class stuff from Torro Rosso. They might have both their drivers in the top 10 had it not been for Buemi's retirement. They are now level with Sauber on points and just 10 down from Force India with 2 races to go.

What can you say about Alonso? He has been pushing that recalcitrant Ferrari all season, flogging every little bit out of it. And he needed that to keep Webber behind him once again. The less said about Massa the better. They need to start looking for a new No.2. For once Hamilton was at the receiving end of the endless Massa-Hamilton saga.

Button too kept up with Vettel, but lacked that extra bit to catch him, let alone pass him. Maybe next year?

Feels great even though I only watched on the web. Dont have BBC and RTL Germany's live FI commentary (during the TV relay) is best suited for sedate sports like Snooker or Golf. Thank god that I found the BBC relay on the web (Thanks Devilscry and other for posting the link)

After a not so great start with the stray dog incident the rest of the weekend seems to have gone without a hitch. Not the most exciting race for the front runners but there was some action midfield.

I thought that the drive through was a bit harsh on Felipe Massa. I say this even though ive been a die hard Mclaren supporter from the Hakkinen-DC days. Would have been appropriate to serve a warning to both drivers without penalizing them IMHO as this came across as a genuine racing incident.

To say that I am absolutely proud of the Indian Grand Prix is an understatement. The Jaypee Sports Group and Gaur family deserve most of the credit as do the thousands of people who worked on the track.

If only for the dirty, muddy nature of the run-off areas the Indian Grand Prix is the best in the current calendar according to Steve Slater and Gary Anderson.

Hats off to India and Jai Hind!!!

P.S. Mayawati on the podium was a moment for me!!

Rowan Atkinson's reaction when Massa crashed into Hamilton. He doesn't need words to express what he feel!

I dunno what is wrong with the western media, they still cannot get over the fact that F1 has come to India. Yes! we are a poor country but not as poor as these people are making it out to be, things are changing and so is India.

just for information, a very close friend of mine and his team of architects have worked tirelessly over the last couple of years to get this infrastructure in place. in fact from the last six months or so he has been at the track for almost twenty hours a day. his wife finally jokes that now this is over, she has got her husband back. the sad part is that the firangs will take the credit for everything

He he!
maybe karthikeyan and his ride were expected to be whisked away on a magic carpet, and the public was going to use ascending rope tricks instead of stairs.
i am disappointed with BIC to not have implemented these daily conveniences.shame!!
Even my elephant disapproved for this departure from our culture!!

Anyhoo, some pictures!
one thing i have learnt.
you wanna watch the race, stay at home/the pub.
you want the violence, go trackside!!
I knew jack about who was 2nd, or 3rd, or how many laps remained.
But the intoxication of the roar, and speed...yowza!!

Hey man why do you care about what people say. Ignorance is the root of all idiocy. There are two cars on track every season with the tri-color. There is a half Indian billionaire (Tony Fernandes) who runs Lotus. And we all know VJM. Technically there are two teams in F1 with people of Indian origin at the helm. I believe the CEO of Sauber F1 is Indian too.

There are two drivers from all the major motors-porting countries on track. Even India!

HRT is techinically owned by TATA on paper(financially speaking).

In a few years F1 will become bigger in India, and India's relevance in F1 will increase.

Not even an American was able to put two cars on the track. Have you heard of US F1? It was a terrible flop.

99.9% of the people who make those negative comments haven't even been to India , they haven't seen the other India so they don't qualify to make statements.
This is how the world was 10 , 20 years ago. All people did was talk down about India. And look where it is heading now. A F1 race in India's capital. Would anyone have thought of this 10 years ago? The talkers will talk, and the walkers will walk the walk.

Just so you know, Ecclestone himself said he was surprised how fast the track was built, and he denigrated Silverstone , saying that he wasn't sure if Silverstone was done! And he said something along the lines that building a track like Buddh would have taken 20 years in the U.K. !

People just cannot digest facts, so they resort to ignorance to feel happy.
It's their loss .

Just because someone wrote something on the internet doesn't make it a fact, and it doesn't mean you should take it seriously. Don't take these Keyboard warriors too seriously!

The track layout is superb. One of Tilke's best jobs since Turkey !

The racing might have been a bit boring but thats because its the first time. Next year the DRS zone will be better placed, and the Pirellis will bring Super softs (since the track surface is not at all abrasive), which will really make this race one of the best on the calendar. I also hope the organizers have a way to reduce the dust off the racing line, which would go a long way in improving the show. At the moment the dust is too much and does not allow a driver to take an alternative racing line.

Great job.

@all: A bit offtopic, but will the F1 after-party at which the Lady Gaga will be singing broadcasted?
