Disagree. F1 has definitely had an uptick and has surged even further ahead but MotoGp has its fans too.

Enough Rossi fans in this country

But yes, the number of folks following MotoGP is far far lesser than F1.

I think if it's promoted well (like F1), then MotoGP can also expect an audience in India. It will also help if the ticket costs are lower than F1 (it should be).

All that can change once people witness a race live at the track. I think a good percentage of the people who attended this year's F1 race just out of curiosity will be back next year - as fans.

That sounds about right. Plus the average MotoGP fan is much younger and therefore less affluent.

Ticket prices have reflect this fact. (1/2 the F1 prices??).

Also the hosting fee will be substantially cheaper because there is no monster like Bernie.

Save for Europe where Motorcycle Racing is promoted as it should be, the rest of the world are far more complacent in promoting Motorcycle Racing. Go to any US based Motorcycle forum & notice as to how sick they are (the Motorcyclist) with general people as well as authorities obsession with NASCAR.

Few sponsors came up to promote Narain & KC. Naren Kumar & Gill are getting their fare share too. For two wheel racers?

Nothing against 4 wheel Motorsports, but two wheel races will always be sidelined, atleast in India for few years. Have a look.

The fate of the Indian GP (MotoGP) for 2012 seems to be sealed

So India won't be watching any MotoGP action, live this year. Sigh.
