+1.

Both getting in and out was pretty organised though getting out of the venue on race day was crazy(expected).

It was also nice to have the dnd toll waived for the race day.Helped in free flow of traffic.

It was my first time for the event. Having followed the sport for so long and finally getting a chance to watch it that too from Main Grand Stand was like a dream come true. I had won the ticket in a contest and boy they had reserved the best seats in town for us. Bang opposite to the Podium. Plus since Alonso was starting from 5th which meant he has right beneath me.

In terms of experience I think nothing can come closer to the sound of the F1 car echoing in the Main Grand Stand. Without the ear plugs I could feel my ear drums vibrating.

I would give 5 stars to Jaypee and event organisers. In my eyes acccording to Indian standards the even was organised and executed perfectly. Apart from some minor things I think overall preparations were top notch.

I had bought the Race Day only ticket for my wife and luckily got her a seat next to me.

I am a Ferrari supporter, so was slightly sad to see Alonso finish behind Vettel but neverthless considering Vettel's form it was a good race for Alonso.

Here are some pictures that I managed to click:

Is the camera heli also flown over for the event or can you rent one of these things in India for these occasions?

Looks like it is rented. The tail number starts with VT indicating an Indian registered Helicopter.

This has easily got to be the most filled F1 event of the year so far? There are just so many people.

This track makes the vacancy at Yeongam look like a joke. I imagine they would be making a killing on this event?!
This year apparently the occupancy was less compared to last year.

This is nothing. December-January would be waay foggier. However got to admit this year November has been uncharacteristically foggy this part of the country.

Those are some great clicks, Rachit... same for Behemoth (who posted pics on behalf of his better half).

Agree with you on view of main grand stand with echoing V8's screaming on track. And I am all out for Mclaren, but personally thought the best show put on the track was by Alonso... Cheers!

And thank you once again for sharing Friday ticket with me!

I have an extra model McLaren F1 car, personally autographed by Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button, which I would like to give away.
Name: Car1.jpg
Views: 917
Size: 134.9 KB

I propose to give it to the Mods in recognition of all the hard work that they have done for Team-BHP and can hand it over to Anshuman when I meet him next and he can send it to GTO.
Hope you all will agree with me!

Regards,
Behemoth

whatever it is, the heli pilot has some great skills. The abrupt stall and change of directions that he was doing above turns 2 and 3 were a sight.

BTW, am down with allergic cold due to the dust at Buddh International. Happened when i went there for the NH7 Weekender music festival also. They really need to start watering down the surrounding areas before hosting events. I wonder how the people living in those millions of flats in Greater Noida fare.

Actually the company my wife works for is one of the sponsors for the McLaren team, and they pay big money to the McLaren team, in return for which they get exclusive access to Paddock club, Garage and other areas and also interact closely with the drivers and hence this was one of the memorabilia.

I will try to see if I can arrange one more for you. Give me a few days!

Good to see that indian grandprix was one of the interesting one. I missed it this time. I was at the circuit at 1.30, but to rush back as i was blessed with a baby boy just when the race ended. And god knows he becomes a Grand Prix driver one day

Dear All

In the recently conculded FIA Awards Gala (@ Istanbul) India picked up few awards (that I know of)
  1. Best Promoter - Budh International Circuit (BIC)
  2. Best Clerck of the Course (COC) - Farhan Vohra (BIC)
  3. FIA Asia-Pacific Cup for 2WD Cars : Driver: Karamjit Singh (MYS)
    Co-driver: Vivek Ponnuswamy (IND)
For those who does not know, the COC is our own TBHPian "Sideways" hence, a special Congratulations are in order I believe

Best Regards & Drive/Ride Safe
